We had a fantastic stay at Khao Lak Laguna Resort. The rooms were excellent, and we stayed in very high-end bungalows just a minute's walk from the beach. The breakfast buffet, included in our room, was great and offered a variety of delicious options. The resort's location is ideal, with just a five-minute walk to town where it's easy to catch a "song thaew" (taxi) to nearby sites. While the stretch along the main road in Khao Lak isn't very nice, staying down on the beach made all the difference. The beach area is perfect for relaxation, and there are countless great diving options nearby. The resort features two nice pools right by the beach, and they offer free boogie boards for ocean fun. Although the immediate beach area isn't the nicest, a short five-minute walk takes you to a much nicer stretch of beach. They also have free bikes available, and I recommend using the mountain bikes as the locks on the more leisurely bikes can get stuck easily. The service from the front desk and restaurant staff was excellent, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Terrible check in

Terrible check in experience. Waited a long time..they wouldn’t show us to our room and we didn’t get a welcome drink or towel (others did). They then tried to put us in a triples bed room with 2 single beds pushed together. I arranged the romantic dinner..and it was a surprise.. yet TWICE staff approached me in the days before the meal to confirm details of the surprise meal.

We had the first room directly on the main road which was to loud, then we changed to an other room, but this one had a smelly bath room. We changed again the room, but then the shower was cold, they tried to fix it but it didn’t work. Also the stuff was not switched on and not as friendly as you would expect.

Beautiful hotel. It's authentic style and decor of Asia made you feel like you where in the heart of Thailand and didn't need to leave the front gates. Outstanding location of pool and beach. Great value.... was sorry to leave.

Disappointed!

This hotel is catering to package tourist from (northern) Europe. No 'Thainess' to it, instead a sad mix of Chinese, mediterranean and Thai decor! Guests staying just for a couple of nights, as we did, not very welcome. Breakfast bland and uninspired, as is the food served at the pool restaurant. Very slow service! We, an expat family living in Bangkok, booked this hotel based on its reviews for 3 nights on a road trip through southern Thailand and it was, by far, the worst hotel we ever stayed in in SEA!

Perfect stay for couples or families

We would definitely stay again. Friendly staff and lovely premises. Not too big or too small. Love it had big glass doors to see outside and good size balcony to sit on. Rooms a very good size. Location on the 'bay' perfect, as with the beach.

Nice Resort on the Beach

The staff are all very friendly and the location of the resort is great. The grounds are beautiful and we loved having a bungalow right on the beach. While I understand that it's essentially in a jungle we had too many ants crawling around the room. They need to spray or use traps for ants. When the waves would crash hard at night we had lots of big ants running out of the trim and down the walls. They were on the floor and even found one smashed in bed with us.

Excellent Hotel

This was our second time in Khao Lak but the first at the Laguna Resort. We found the hotel excellent and very accommodating. Had booked through Expedia and within days if the booking I realised I had booked the wrong room. I contacted Expedia to change it. They got back to me to say I could change the room when I got there. Unfortunately there was no record of this call and the hotel was fully booked. They made every effort and after 2 days we were moved to the room of our choice. The busy road did not detract from our stay and once in the hotel's grounds you were unaware of the road. we ate in the hotel at lunch time and whilst it was more expensive than local restaurants it was not exorbatant. We'd go back.

THE PERFECT PLACE FOR WHAT WE WANTED !

We needed a place to unwind and relax and Khaolak laguna resort fitted the bill perfectly, totally pampered by the excellent staff and peaceful surroundings on the waterfront with a good swimming beach. We had a oriental villa 30 metres from the beach which was spacious, with good facilities, clean and well presented.The gardens are vast and well kept making for pleasant walks. A good bar and restaurant on the waters edge makes for pleasant evenings and socialising with other guests from Europe ,UK and many other countries. Food at this resort is excellent and fairly priced which is good because when it is very hot, for us, being in the older age group, it is quite testing to walk to the nearby village. We managed the many steps at the hotel relatively easily but for handicapped people it would be very testing. We wish to thank all the staff and management for your personal attention during our 8 night stay and WE WILL BE BACK.

Fantastic stay by the sea

We have just returned from a fantastic four day/five night stay at the Khao Lak Laguna Resort. It was a wonderful relaxing time at this super hotel with its generously large and well appointed rooms, lovely gardens and super friendly staff. For us it is 5 star plus plus.
