It was a sub-par stay. We got there when it was dark and had no idea where to go to check in. Wandered around for a little while because the property is so big. When we got in the room there was dead bugs on the windowsill and carpet. Another time we got home from dinner and there was a stinkbug on my clothes. Irritating but kind of unavoidable in these winter conditions and it being such an old building. All of the staff were great! Every interaction was very helpful and they were all inviting. That is besides the buffet staff who seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. Was weird and predatory (for tips) that they gave us a check at our complimentary (free) breakfast. Paid good money to be here, so should their staff!! Staff/owners should not rely on tips for a breakfast that is free. There is no dumpster on the property, had to leave trash with the restaurant staff who was very very helpful. What kind of restaurant/hotel doesn’t have a dumpster??? The pool and hot tub were very nice but there werent any towels there. Had to bring our towels from the room, they’re hotel towles, they suck. Overall a good stay for the weekend. The staff was the light in the tunnel for me.
