Dating back to c.1775, our spacious 3 bedroom apartment has recently been meticulously restored to celebrate its rich history going back 250 years, whilst offering a luxuriously modern living experience. Situated in the heart of the old town, the Castle, Tolbooth and Old Town Jail are right on your doorstep, with the city's top restaurants and bars just a short walk away.

Located on the top floor, nestled among the rooftops, every window offers a curated view of a city steeped in history.

After a busy day exploring the local attractions, the cosy living room provides the perfect setting to unwind. A 55" smart TV loaded with the latest on-demand shows and Netflix, along with an array of locally sourced books and board games, ensures entertainment for the whole family. For all your culinary adventures, the fully equipped kitchen off the living room features modern conveniences, including a state-of-the-art steam oven, induction hob and dishwasher.

Facing out to the Tolbooth 'The William Wallace Room' has been sympathetically restored to reflect its traditional grandeur, showcasing the original hardwood flooring throughout and breath-taking views of across the old town to the Ochil Hills beyond.

Facing the Old Town Jail to the rear, our equally glamorous 'Mary Queen of Scots Room' offers an opulent boutique design with a modern twist, complimented by picturesque views of the Old Town Jail to wake up to.

Both bedrooms include fitted wardrobes and king-sized beds with luxuriously thick 7-layer mattresses, coupled with rich linens, ensuring an exceptionally restful night’s sleep.

Our third bedroom, features spacious bunk beds designed for adults, complete with our luxurious single-sized 7-layer mattresses and equally exquisite views across the old town. With design inspired by Scotland's renowned wizarding franchise.

We understand the importance of a great night’s sleep, which is why every room is fitted with full blackout Roman blinds.

Free parking is available throughout your stay, please inquire for availability at time of booking. On-street parking is free throughout the evenings from 5:30pm - 8:45am and otherwise paid outside these hours. Further details provided upon making your reservation.

We are an 18th Century Building packed full of Character, part of which is its original stair-tower located within a turret! Consequentially, it is not suitable for those with limited mobility as there are some steps to reach us on the second floor; but we promise the views can certainly justify it!

Daniel Lewis was a great host and this property was a fantastic place to stay. Stirling is a beautiful small town to stay with a close proximity to Edinburgh and is a great place to access the rest of Scotland.

Great location on a quiet street about five mins from Stirling town centre. There’s a wee shop nearby, the castle is a few minutes away, lots of cafes within walking distance. Loved our stay here!

Our stay at the St Johns Jailhouse was lovely but too short! The apartment is beautifully decorated, very clean, well-equipped, and well-situated within Stirling, convenient to many sights and restaurants. Daniel generously provided milk and breakfast items, beyond the basic provisions. There was a lot of helpful information and local recommendations that we wished we had more time to take advantage of! We would highly recommend this apartment to others visiting Stirling. Only things to consider is that the apartment may be tough for those with mobility issues - the dedicated parking lot is a plus but is a bit of a walk and the apartment is upstairs. But for visitors without those issues, the apartment is perfect!

Wow!! What a treat our stay was. We loved everything about our trip including our stay at St John's jailhouse by the castle. We enjoyed nights looking out the window after a long day of traveling around Scotland and drinking champagne in the courtyard in the evening.Daniel was more than helpful and met us at the apartment for a quick and easy check in. The apartment was clean (spotless) and comfortable and the small touches (eggs, cereal, champagne, and all the recommendations) just added a little something extra. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic in every way

The pre arrival information was comprehensive and we had no problems finding the accommodation, gaining access and parking. The area was perfect for sightseeing, if needed the hop on bus stopped jest a minutes walk away. We also arranged a visit to the observatory at the Stirling Highland Hotel which was close by so thanks to Bert for that.The accommodation was high quality and had everything you need either to cook at home or make a light meal. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. We didn’t need the bunk rooms but the two main rooms were large and nicely decorated. Fans were available if needed and there was an outdoor space to sit ( great as we had lovely weather). We really appreciated the welcome pack and the chalk board with recommendations for visits and where to eat.We were at the jail so that was a must see as was the Castle just a few minutes walk away and the local church. The Portcullis pub was between those two buildings so great for drinks and a meal. Lots of places nearby for food and drink to suit everyone’s needs.Brea was lovely for local fayre and don’t miss brunch at Vera. I recommend this to anyone wanting to explore the area - I don’t think you could do better. Thanks to our hosts.

Fabulous Apartment!

Beautiful, clean, renovated, stylish but cozy apartment. Lovely attention to detail. Fresh eggs, milk, cookies and tea/coffee supplies were provided. We would absolutely stay there again. The host, Daniel, was incredibly kind and responsive to our various inquiries. The views are great, as is the location, close to restaurants and shops.Take the listing’s statement that it “is not suitable for those with limited mobility” seriously. One has to walk through a close/courtyard that has a few doors and stairs, and then climb quite a few stairs in a spiral staircase in the turret to the apartment. My bum knee didn’t like that. However, as the listing also states “the views can certainly justify it!” We enthusiastically agree.
