This property is better suited for those travelers who are more comfortable with roughing it versus luxury accommodations. You can tell this property was beautiful in its heyday, but it is now somewhat run down. Efforts are being made to remodel rooms and the property. I stayed at the Flamboyan on 4/11 and 4/19. I stayed at the Flamboyan for one night each at beginning and end of my stay at a resort in Charlotte Amalie. I arrived at the property Friday, 4/11/25 to check in. I went to my room, and the room wasn’t cleaned from the previous occupant- the bed sheets were not changed, dirty towels all over. The front desk lady was extremely nice and apologetic. She assigned me a new, upgraded room, which was nice. It was nice until I went to my bed, turned on the light, and a 2 inch king of all kings cockroach came scurrying towards me. Scared the crap out of me. I whacked it with my slide and slept with the lights on. I checked out the following morning and went to my resort in Charlotte Amalie knowing I was returning to the Flamboyan the following Saturday, 4/19/25 with my fiancé. I had already booked and paid for the room through Expedia and was beyond the cancellation period. We checked in Saturday with no issues, but slept with the lights on. I mentioned the roach encounter to the front desk lady, who explained the roaches sometimes crawl under the doors if there is a space between the door and the floor. She

I’ve always loved coming to Root 42 for lunch/dinner, the atmosphere and the vibe is just super relaxing. This time my property was booked on island so I chose to stay at Flamboyan and I absolutely loved my stay! Super spacious room, very comfortable, large shower. I’m also a cat person and loved all the kitties around! I’ll definitely be back when my condo is booked! Thank you Flamboyan! Staff was super nice and friendly too ❤️

Stunning Views!

Our view at Flamboyan is what really sold us. It was absolutely stunning. The room was also equipped with everything we needed for our two-night stay. The staff was friendly, and it was easy access to Magen's Bay and area restaurants. I would absolutely stay again.

Nice view out of the 2 bedroom suite.. housekeeping isn’t a thing so you have to call and ask them to bring you towels in the morning… owner seemed very short tempered when I was stating that I needed towels and toiletries.

Property Was Not In Good Condition . Hard To Reach Receptionists And House Cleaning For Help Or Supplies . Restaurant 42 Food Is Good But Wait Is Long Due To Not Enough Workers. Pools Are Clean But Still Need More Maintenance. Room Views Are Not So Nice All You See Is Trees . Gift Shop Stayed Closed My Whole Stay . Hot Tub Upper Level Is Out Of Commission. Don’t book here. Horrible place, pictures are very old, it’s ran down. A Motel 6 is cleaner and better kept than this place. Don’t pay this price pay alittle more and stay somewhere better! Horrible food, chicken tasted like fish, and this place is a safety hazard.

Some of the front desk staff are confused about protocol. I checked in at 4pm and there were absolutely no towels in the room. When I called, I was assured someone would come in 20 minutes with towels. An hour later, I walked back to the front office and was give. Many pool towels. Two hours later a woman came with a trash bag full of towels and a whole bunch of other supplies that I did not need after she said “you’re the lady that keeps calling” in a way that sounded like I was unreasonable for wanting a towel and a wash cloth. Very strange. The next night I called what I thought was the office number and was told rudely to stop calling her personal cell phone. She gave me the actual front office number, which I called for 20 minutes with no response. I walked to the front office to find the staff outside smoking. She didn’t have an answer to the question and told me to come again in the morning. Very strange idea of hospitality. However, the staff at Northside grind, a deli on the property, were wonderful and the food is fantastic. I hope the strange experience at the resort property was a one off.

The property was very beautiful. After looking at the other reviews I wasn't very hopeful but after staying and I was in awe. Our hotel room faced the Magen Bay ocean view and it was breathtaking. The queen size bed fir both me and my husband comfortably and everything was clean and taken care of. Checking in at 4 was unorthodox however it was worth the wait.

It was a neat lil place with nice rooms, pool, bar restaurant and coffee shop. Had a kitchen area and fridge. Very private -nice balcony. The only complaint was it was a lil dingy. They cut house keeping and basic things like washing down the dressers or cleaning the stained fabric on the chair- would make a difference so hope they will invest in a lil attention to the cleanliness. Nice stay overall- people were great.
