Adequate Older Facility

This facility has had a "face-lift" on the exterior and some repainting in the rooms, but more work on the interior needs to be done. It is an older facility and it is obvious that it has been well used and that the ownership is trying to keep it clean and updated. The shower and toilet area needs some care and the floors could be updated. For our weekend stay it was adequate and the breakfast was the usual, but good, hotel fare.

We waited for our room to be ready at 3pm Friday February 28th 2025. Once check in was ready i paid 253.16 for my two nights. Got our cards to the room. When entering the room, the room was dirty, the bedsheets looked like someone just finished sleeping in them, there was trash everywhere. I quickly closed the door as I was in shock and didn't know if someone was in there. I went up front to the front desk and the lady was nice enough to give up a new room number. So I went up to the new room (second room) the key wasn't working. I went back up front and let the lady again I let her know that the key wasn't working. She asked if I could wait a moment as she had customers in front of her, I told her it was no problem and waited by the door for her. As I waiting by the door of the second room key that was givin to us. A lady walked out of and asked why we were trying to open her door. while we were speaking to the lady in the room, the lady at the front desk was walking up the stairs in ah she was confused as why there was someone else in the room that we were supposed to be in. The lady from the front desk then told me that today was a busy day and it was becoming stressful. Then was given another room everything was working fine. We settled in and left for the day until returning when the lights did not turn on. We then realized that there was no power.

Place was good…. Cleanliness was ok … bed was comfortable… was pet friendly…shower had pressure…. Water did smell a little… food was good at restaurant … they do have breakfast it was ok not great… all in all good….

Stay was nice. Beds were comfortable. Front desk needs to be more personable. Coffee was empty but front desk made it for us as soon as we asked. Breakfast was basic but acceptable for the price included. Only suggestion would be that person responsible should be aware if food is empty. Came in at 8:00am and eggs were empty. Shuttle service that was suggested was amazing. 5.00 a person.

The property was terrible staff was un helpful there were blood stains on the pillows stains on the couch, the lamps had so much dust on them that it was layered and the overall hotel was disgusting

The hotel is in a good location minutes from historic downtown and St Augustine Amphitheatre. Clean and quiet. Breakfast is basic but serves the purpose

A few not so pleasant experiences

The place was what I would expect from a average hotel. But the place is broken up into two separate buildings. Our rooms were across the street not even attached to the main building. Shared a lot with a Mexican restaurant which I did not like! Left for dinner and came back to nowhere to park due to the bar/restaurant patron's parking in the same lot. Didn't like the idea of bar/restaurant customers parking next to my car after leaving the bar! I'm parking at a hotel not a bar so i think anyone would have concerns with someone coming out after drinking all evening and dinging up your car because they don't know better. Also the breakfast wasn't the greatest. I understand it's complimentary in the hotel does not have to serve it the food was okay but it was the dollar store type Styrofoam plates that I had an issue with.. made waffles in the waffle maker and couldn't even cut them on the plate because the plates were so cheap. I would have been better off slapping it on the table and using the table as a plate but overall it was a decent stay I just feel like these few things would deter people from staying here. It was affordable and decently close to everything.

I felt the staff was accommodating and caring by helping with small and larger requests. While the property has been there for many years, they continue to reinvest in the rooms with fresh paint and new furniture as well as thorough cleaning. I feel Flagler represents a good value.
