Quite place to stay off the grid
My wife and I stayed here for our son’s graduation from Penn State. The drive is only 30 minutes to campus and was affordable compared to the prices the hotel chains were charging. The positives:- Would stay here again even with the negatives outlined below- Very quiet- Property is owned by Amish and kept very clean- All the amenities you’ll need for a short or long stay- Plenty of space for a couple, family, or a few friends- Felt safe- Property Manager was helpful trying to find the place and figure out the WiFi - Soft towels and the bathroom soaps were greatThe negatives:- GPS took us to a different location about 1/2 mile down the road. Fortunately we found it, but was hard to find in the dark- No mobile phone service and the WiFi was not working the entire time even after hours of troubleshooting. Since the WiFi was down, we were not able to watch TV. You could make calls, but you had to be outside about 10 feet from the front door - Need instructions for using the WiFi - Very squeaky bedroom door which woke up my wife in the morning - Need additional, large pillows for the bed- Need to reset all the clocks in the house when to power goes out- Water pulses a bit in the shower, but plenty of water pressure Advice:- Screen shot or write down the code to get in ahead of time as you will not be able to load any applications on your phone- Bring board games or a book to read - Bring air mattresses if friends are joining you or for the kids
