The hotel was nice but being on the first floor being in the first hotel room made it easy to hear everyone that passed by and it got noisy. The bed sunk in a bit in the middle and there was some hair when I went to shower.

The staff are nice and the variety of activities were good… but this place is worn down. The set up is good for having the kids play in the atrium and being able to watch them… but the furniture is needing to be reupholstered. Stains, musty and dirty carpet feel…and for the price you pay… this will probably be my last time (of our annual visits).

Overall, my son & I enjoyed our six-night stay, thanks to all of the wonderful staff, the recreational amenities, the quiet room with comfy beds, the lobby "living room", the restaurant and the large grounds behind the hotel. I found a lovely place to read next to the marsh and under an old oak tree. As an interior decorator & designer, I couldn't help notice the wear and tear on the tired furniture in the atrium rec area. The armless chairs that dot the perimeter and the worn curved sofas by the fireplace are way past their due date. I could feel the sofa frame while I sat... Please, please General Manager Carolyn, invest in new furniture. I know Best Western is performing well from what I've read online and tourism numbers and hotel capacities are way up thanks to you know who down south. I worry not only about the aesthetics and lack of seating comfort, but also for hygienic reasons! Old, worn upholstery fabric harbours all sorts of nasty things... It's unhealthy to your guests to keep this furniture and betrays your Mission statement of providing "..trusted guest experiences.." Innumerable commercial luxe vinyls and beautiful, commercial & sustainable fabric options are available. The latter speaks to your Mission statement again, "...foster a caring and inclusive culture that respects the environment." First the room I was assigned was in the non renovated area and did not have elevator access! I have an injury and weight lifting restriction so I was unable to carry my luggage up stairs. Got to room and the A/C did not work! I room was hot and musty smelling and there was mold on the ceiling! I am allergic to mold so staying in this room affected my health! ( hotel completely booked so I was not given a different room). Worst hotel I ever stayed in and I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed at this property last year and we found that it has deteriorated over the year. The staff was pleasant, the restaurant food options were good and reasonably priced. The cleanliness of the property was disappointing. Carpets on stairs were dirty, windows were dirty and parking lot was not in good shape. We booked two adjoining rooms and the air conditioner of one of the rooms was not working properly. The water slide and pool were popular but the back wall seemd to be under construction or damaged. The rules of the water slide also changed with no one over 4 feet allowed to use it. my grandson just "made the cut" but will not qualify in the future to use the slide. The palyroom area was also popular for kids and families. The basketball hoop was broken and not repaired. We looked forward to our visit this year after last year's experience but were disappointed about the changes.

Bring your disinfectant cleaner and extra sheets

No need for a sound machine, but bring your gloves, duster and disinfectant. I will preface by saying that I stayed over the weekend when the hotel was at full capacity, so there was no other room option. The room had a full layer of dust on every hard service, shower turned my Clorox wipes brown when I wiped it down, cobwebs on every ceiling corner and edge of curtain valance, curtains were half broken and hanging down, trash behind the dressers, dirty shoe print on the pullout couch cushion. The air conditioner worked good, but sounded like a white noise sound machine on full blast. Floating hair clumps in the pool, kids toys left at bottom of the pool, mystery stains on the pool towels, and chlorine so strong in the pool it will dry out every bit of your skin and burn your eyes if you’re under water too long (which given the cleanliness of the other things probably is needed). Also no information was given on the height restriction for the water slides prior to booking, must be 2-4ft tall to ride only. Arcade and play area was nice, entry and eating area was well kept, but all food is à la carte!

Slides at pool not accessible to adults (not advertised as children only). Pool facility needs major renovations. Other than that, great place to bring family. Liked atrium center with games. It is nice to have something to do at hotel. I wish Chatham still had Wheels Inn arcade and pool facility (was a great Best Western spot to take family to).

We had a number of issues during the stay .. TV broken, key card not working, at checkout they had us listed in the wrong room. Buildings and rooms are dated need renovation. The restaurant was very nice though with excellent service and food.

Terrible place

This was an extremely disappointing stay. The hotel is obviously geared towards children and has a lot of things for the kids to do. However, during our stay, those amenities were extremely restricted. The hotel rooms themselves are filthy dirty, the wallpaper and paint is peeling, the bathtubs are stained and rusted. I’ve stayed in $30 roadside motel rooms that were cleaner. But, I didn’t care about that because I thought my children would be able to use the waterpark and play area. However, our daughter was “too tall” for the water slide so we left the pool to play in the play area. Well, all the kids in the hotel started playing beach volleyball together. Kids that didn’t know each other, kids from 3 different countries. I was one of the adults playing with them and they were all doing great together. Well, the front desk clerk came out and told us we had to stop b/c some corporate BW guests were staying & complained that the kids were too loud. Are you kidding me! This hotel is a dump, not some Gucci 5 star place. I’m sorry the kids were playing together in the play area at the designated time to do so. So, then we got kicked out and the adults came and took over. I didn’t care, but, they were much louder than the kids and spilling beer all over the pool tables well after the area was supposed to be closed.

Hotel needs upgrades

The AC did not work, the carpets and towels were soaked and smelled. There are no windows and your balcony looks over an indoor children's play area. No fresh air and no sunlight.

This is our 2nd time in this hotel and still good, our kids love it because of the indoor pool and indoor playground. The room is clean but dumped. Because the floor is carpeted and if you use the pool, the carpet gets wet and smells dump. I hope they change it to wood floors. Also we were given a room on the second floor but on the other side and there is no elevator on that side, we have a lot of stuff to carry from the stairs. We asked the staff to give us another room but they said there's nothing because we were staying for 3nights. We managed though. And the hotel is closed to Point Peelee and Seacliff beach, we also went to Mersea beach for the kids to play while waiting for the sunset.

We have been to this location almost every year in the past 8 years and we love it but we have noticed the prices have gone almost double we would not mind and the kids alwaya have a good time but facility does need to update a little bit to justify the increase in prices. Bottoms floors have worn out carpets espevially if it has a walk out to the parking. Lots of parking space Close to the national park Pretty great gym Friendly staff as always
