The hotel is going through renovation's so a little chaotic but what an amazing location and the little upgrades are nice. Most staff super friendly and helpful. Not all. The breakfast in the cool old bar is great and did I mention location.

Check in process: Around 2:00 Staff on duty said our room was not ready early because while it had been cleaned it needed to be inspected and the inspector went on break. At 3:00 we approached another reservation staff who said that while our room was still listed as not ready, she could check the room’s readiness, walked down the hall to do so, and returned to give us the room keys, saying that sometimes housekeeping does not inform them when a room is ready. We waited an hour longer than we likely needed to.

This property while situated in a beautiful location was poor in quality. Upon arrival we were met with an additional $30 plus a day resort fee. The reception area for this huge property looks like a wooden table one would find in a basement passing as a man cave bar. They had no water nor any ability to purchase any sundry items. We had paid for a waterfront room. Upon our way to the room in the "Historic Wing" of the hotel we passed a picture showing that area in the 1930s. The hotel does not look like there has been any effort made to keep up the property since that time. The hallway rugs are worn and dirty. Upon entering our room #24, there was about an inch of toilet paper on the spool. I went back down to the front desk and the receptionist did not have any toilet paper. She left to find some and returned 15" later with a strange large industrial roll about 10" in diameter. The toilet in the bathroom is so close to the door and the wall that you cannot open or close the door without hitting your legs if you use the toilet. My shoulder literally was pushed against the wall to sit on the toilet. The "air conditioning" was a large noisy wall unit that seemed to operate on its own schedule. Night one it did not operate at all. It worked Night two because I opened a door to the small wooden deck and miraculously it started. It does not look like the hotel owner has put any money into new carpets and overall site upgrades in decades. Horrific.

Great views!

If you get a room overlooking the sea, this place is amazing. The location offers views from most rooms but I would not choose poolside unless that’s your thing. The location allows quick access to the breakwater and bike paths. They offer a shuttle to and from town if the walk seems too long but renting an ebike is the way to go. The rooms are worn and the bathroom small but the beds are very comfortable, and being on the water is fantastic.

The rooms were old and not well maintained. I saw the reviews before and this hotel is not a 8.2. It's more like a 7. The pillows were awful the mattress terrible. I left early because the room was so uncomfortable. My husband is tall and he couldn't proper use the toilet because it was too close to the wall. I was very very disappointed. Also our room neighbors had loud music after 10. It was do annoying. I left really sad with this experience.
