The initial impression was was not good the entrance was being remodeled , as a result we had to walk down the side of the building with luggage .the room was nice the comforter was not clean but was changed quickly when asked. the staff was the Ace in the whole helpful and pleasant . customer service was great

Most of the staff was friendly, one lady in the breakfast area was a bit short. I found it weird to be required to eat breakfast in a certain area. LOTS of construction, seeing toilets laying around wasn't what I had in mind for vacation. Hearing construction noise drown out the ocean wasn't what I had planned.

Two weeks ago, we stayed at Sands Rosa and LOVED it. This time, we were meet with massive construction. I understand they are improving the resort and it is difficult for guests and the employees having to work around guests. Check if construction is on-going because for us, it was safety issues. I've included pictures of the path into the hotel. The glass door was never locked, workers were coming and going with no identification. We will return, but it will be after the construction is complete.

The hotel sun deck is amazing!! Our room was larger than the average hotel room with a live seat, eat-in table, and fridge. Checkin was super quick.

The room was clean, the breakfast had a lot of choices and was good and I liked being able to get a drink and enjoy watching the waves. The staff was also very friendly. Our only issues is that the hot water was spotty. Sometimes we had it and sometimes we didn't. The toilet handle was broken so it was hard to flush and my husband had to keep fixing it. The building is also under construction so only one elevator worked. He mostly took the stairs because we were only on the second floor. Plus our balcony door wouldn't close without the deadbolt. You definitely get what you pay for.

I wanted to share some important feedback about my experience. If the interior walkway to the front desk is going to be closed, guests should be notified in advance—especially during bad weather. It was cold, rainy, and windy during my stay, and had I known we’d need to walk outside to reach the front desk, I could have prepared with appropriate clothing or an umbrella. Instead, I was caught completely off guard. Another concern occurred when I visited the front desk to request a couple of towels. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, the clerk, Joshua, took my request but then proceeded to assist a man behind me before completing it. As a solo female traveler, this made me feel overlooked and uncomfortable. At checkout, the walkway we were instructed to use was blocked off by workers, forcing me to exit through a side door onto an uneven path with mud puddles. Again, this could have been avoided with clearer communication about the ongoing renovations and their impact on guest access. The first two days of my stay were perfectly fine, but the lack of notice about construction, the unsafe and inconvenient detours, and being disregarded at the front desk made the remainder of my stay disappointing. Overall, I did not feel safe or welcomed as a solo female traveler. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously to improve communication and guest experience moving forward.

The room was very clean, but the staff was excellent!!! 10 Stars!! So kind, so helpful, so courteous, and SOOO Friendly!! We do not speak Spanish, but that was never once a problem...they went out of their way to try to understand our needs and accommodate us. Breakfast, a REAL breakfast everyday...not a continental breakfast that we have experienced elsewhere. Plus the location of the resort could not have been better. Right there on the Beach!!! Ola's Bar and Grill was such a nice surprise!! If anyone goes you must ask for a "Mariah's Margarita!" Or as Edgar calls it an "M & M." The seating and deck outside, so close to the beach, was so pleasant. We had never been to South Padre Island so did not know what to expect but the Sand Rose and their staff exceeded all expectations! We will return!!!!!!

Good Part : Location is good, next to beach and breakfast was good with ample space to sit for many families together. Issues : Parking can be an issue during peak season time, only one elevator for whole hotel. Room were clean but bathroom gate was damaged, Air conditioner was too noisy and main issue was the behavior of front desk staff (not all staff members dealing with customers) seems to be biased.
