Skálavík is a small and tranquil village where life moves slowly. Here you will experience the authentic Faroese atmosphere without crowds or traffic, only fresh air, silence, and breathtaking scenery in every direction.



The island of Sandoy offers a unique landscape compared to many of the other islands. It is softer and more open, with rolling hills, valleys, black sand beaches, and scenic viewpoints. It is perfect for walking, exploring, and simply enjoying the natural surroundings at your own pace.



Since the opening of the Sandoy Tunnel, access to the island has become much easier, making day trips to the capital area more convenient while still allowing you to stay in complete peace and seclusion.



The nearby village of Sandur offers basic services such as a grocery store, café, and beach area, while Skálavík remains quiet and untouched – a true escape from busy everyday life.

Vágar Airport: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes by car

The village is a great base for exploring both southern islands and scenic coastal drives, while still offering complete peace and privacy.



Parking is available at the property.

Faroese weather changes quickly — bring warm layers and good footwear for hiking.



Check-in from 4:00 PM, check-out by 10:00 AM. Please respect the house rules and take out trash before departure.

Would you like to arrive a bit earlier or leave a little later? We provide both early check-in and late check-out for an additional fee. Please reach out in advance to confirm availability.

It is also possible to order a baby cot and a high chair for an additional fee.
