Lovely quirky hotel in a great area. Staff are very attentive. Supremely comfortable beds, free minibar was a nice touch. Some areas developing a bit of “patina” and could do with a refresh eg hall carpeting. Does not detract from experience.

The Scarlet does not live up to the website photographs. It is in need of new carpet and a complete redecoration. It looks very tired in places. The room was not always cleaned carefully. The opaque door between bathroom and bedroom was covered in splash marks and fingerprints throughout our stay. I don’t think it was ever cleaned. The glasses in the room were not very clean either. The room safe jammed on us twice meaning we had to wait for an engineer to come and fix it. The bed was very comfortable as was the room temperature. The complimentary minibar was very welcome. Beer, soft drinks,chocolate, nuts, water etc all replenished daily. Tea and coffee making facilities were welcome too. Fruit and snacks are available at reception free of charge too. So, it has good points and bad. The staff make up for its issues to some degree. But it is in a good location for almost everything in Singapore. It just needs a refurbishment for it to live up to it’s 4 star billing. It is in a good location for Chinatown and the MRT, meaning you can get to the sights easily. The staff are excellent and do whatever they can to help. The rooftop bar is expensive, better value and more authentic dining options are a walk away.

The staff are part of the best thing about this hotel. So friendly..... We were lucky enough to be upgraded from an executive balcony to a suite. Location is amazing, so close toaxwell MRT and the Maxwell Food centre

First time in Singapore!

Rooms are much smaller than they look and balcony’s overlook a car park so don’t bother with that option. Otherwise good, fab location and friendly staff.
