I stayed at Aerotel Singapore on 15/09 and had an appalling experience from start to finish! Upon check-in, I was suddenly asked to pay an extra $72 for my 2 kids. I had called in July and spoken to Paul or Peter, who assured me that it would be fine for my kids to share our bed – no mention of extra fees! When I tried to explain this to the front office staff, I was met with blank stares and zero help. Utterly unprofessional and unethical practice! The room itself was a joke for the price. It was super warm – I had to request a fan, and while I appreciated getting one, when you’re paying $300 a night, you expect a functioning air-conditioning system. I don’t care if it’s “regulated by the airport” – this should be clearly advertised! To make things worse, the bathroom smelled like bad drainage, and one of the plugs near the bed wasn’t working, leaving me with no choice but to charge my phone one by one. Completely unacceptable! The only redeeming feature was breakfast, which was good – but even that couldn’t save this nightmare of a stay. This hotel is an absolute ripoff. I’ve stayed at the Crowne Plaza before, and trust me, that’s where you should go. Aerotel is only for desperate situations – I left fuming and will never stay here again!

Very convenient location. Front desk staff are friendly & helpful. However the condition of the property needs better maintenance. Shower case door cannot be closed properly when taking shower. Bathroom floor was bit of sticky.

Wonderful oasis in the middle of terminal 1. The room itself has no natural light, but we expected that. Only steps away, the outdoor pool and bar has an abundance of natural light and air (and a good pool). Added bonus of the pleasant lounge, and library with tea and coffee, as well as gym. Included meal in our 12 hour stay was delicious. The whole facility is way better than the Qantas Club.

Good, but at a price
This transit hotel is great in just about every way except getting there from Terminal 4, which involves a bus ride that takes something more than 20 minutes. Overall, a good experience if you want quiet rest, a hot shower and even the included meal hit the spot, but it isn’t cheap.

3-in-1 cleansing gel
I always carry my own shampoo and conditioner (less than 100ml so they can go in my hand luggage) so I can wash my hair in the room. The hotel supplies a 3-in-1 cleansing gel: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel all in one. I used one of those once and my hair looked like straw afterwards. Also, there are no longer cotton buds in the room so I now carry those in my hand luggage as well.
