The Bad: I let the sink water run over 10 minutes and still no hot water. I was able to get hot water from the tub faucet. Could not get the tub drain to close, so couldn't take a bath. Both chairs were pretty low to try to put makeup on at the sink mirror (which was the only mirror available). Had ice in the lobby but no water there, so had to get tap water from room which needless to say didn't taste good. Hotel is next door to the hospital which could mean sirens through the night. Fortunately there weren't any on the night that I stayed. The Good: Bed and pillows very comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Seattle's Coffee available in the room and it was really good. Ate yougart, banana, donut and orange juice for breakfast and it was very tasty. Netflix and YouTube on the TV. Newer hotel. Overall: Higly recommend. Price was good as well. I was very close to giving a 5-star rating, but couldn't due to the "bad" mentioned. Clarinda is a great little town too! I definitely felt safe which is important as a female traveling alone.

We love staying at the Cobblestone Inn in Clarinda. It is a halfway point for us going from South Dakota to Missouri. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. It is so convenient and an easier drive than through Omaha.

At $147 for a room, I expect a decent level of service. The beds were comfortable, but that was the only positive. The sink didn’t have soap. The breakfast stopped an hour earlier than scheduled. Our keys stopped working and there was no one to help us get into our room. The woman working was kind but needs a day off. This place needs better management.

The room was very clean I came in one night with a question and as I walked to the counter I noticed that the front desk clerk was in the back room. The desk had instructions to dial "0" on the desk phone if I needed help. I did this and the phone was loud and I allowed it to ring at least 6 times but the clerk never came out so I just left. This is unfortunate because the morning clerk (I believe her name is Courntey) was very pleasant and helpful. I did not eat breakfast at the property I do not have a pet

Room could have been cleaner. Walls seemed thin - could hear neighboring room's TV when trying to sleep, as well as semi trucks outside. Only meat option at breakfast was the thin microwavable bacon.

The bed was excellent, although slightly high for a short, crippled guy like me to get into. The bathtub/shower had no handrails. The room was freezing when we walked in- thermostat at 64. We had to run it at 77 to stay comfortable with outside temps reaching 80 daytime. No pen and paper at desk. Breakfast adequate but definitely limited. Our cards would not open the outside door closest to our room- management knew of it. Our tv remote didn't work and we had to get desk person. She said there are quite a few like that. Unfriendly person at check in. Both of our cards stopped working before end of stay. On dining room tv there was FOX 24/7, would rather have seen something politically neutral. We paid a premium price for that market and felt management cut too many corners for that rate. Not horrible, but definitely not satisfied.
