Beautiful Villa in peaceful isolation
Carlotta villa is located on the East coast in the hills, it is private and situated in beautiful grounds where you can listen to the birds sing and relax by the large pool.
The villa itself was fantastic, a home from home, clean and exceedingly well equipped with plenty of games, BBQ, candles and comforts. There is a ping pong table is located in the cellar, and pool inflatables but no bikes or kayaks- these need to be rented from local sources.
You will need a car to get to the shops and any beaches or restaurants. The best beaches with all the amenities are South of the Island about an hours drive, but the local beach was quiet and great for a dip and an evening walk. The villa is probably best located for those who want to walk or explore the mountains.
Sadly we had very mixed weather, sunny mornings but rain and storms most afternoons, but Corsica is green and lush for a reason! Solarenza is 20 mins away and has a good array of restaurants, we highly recommend Chez Papou…excellent food and service. Canyoning in The Barvetta was a thrill we hadn’t expected and a boat trip in Bonifacio was another great day out.
Nancy as a host was thoughtful and generous with lots of tips and information about the area.
She managed to translate to English incredibly well, which was a god send! Thank you for a wonderful holiday Nancy x
