The property: very clean including shared bathroom and shower. There is a smell like other reviewers mentioned but it's subtle. Location: convenient but also very noisy. Music lasted basically all night (with earplugs it's acceptable). Check-in: I wish they send instructions earlier so I don't have to stand in front of the entrance and send passport info, but they respond quickly. Summary: I still think it's a great option for a short stay, especially for the price.

Staff was very friendly, made the check-in easy and frequently saw them present cleaning. The area itself was very tidy and organized, our room was very clean upon arrival. I saw a review about the area veing loud, but it wasnt actually vad at all; especially taking into consideration that everything is walking distance and there are several amazing food ans nightlife options. There are 2 train stations, one 10 minutes away and the other 15 making transportation very easy.

For the price, my tiny room was not a surprise, nor were the shared toilets and shower rooms. However, what made my one night a terrible experience was Cocoa Guesthouse's proximity to thunderous nightclubs. I was exhausted after a long day in the sun at the Seoul Jazz Festival and collapsed into bed around 1am. I was rudely awoken at 5:30 by pumping EDM coming from the Sabotage night club a few doors down. When I went out at 6am to see why the music was so loud, I was shocked to find throngs of party-goers in the street plus many people simply passed out on the sides of the road. I know that Hongik University is a popular part spot, but I did not expect that I would be expected to be up before six. Does Cocoa Guesthouse expect its guests to get drunk enough to sleep through this noise? I was not impressed.

Very good guest house.

It was clean, good service, very safe with automatic door locks and codes, quiet. Only thing I give a minus, was noise during the night from bars and disco's close by - but all in all a lovely guesthouse for an affordable price.

This guesthouse is located in the middle of several nightclubs that blasted music until 5am. This was not mentioned in the property description and the room was not soundproofed! We booked for three nights but had no choice but to find other accommodation after a sleepless night. Unless you are into clubbing and plan to go to bed at 5am this is not the place for you! The beds are also rock hard!
