Absolutely Frightening Stay – Avoid at All Costs
We ended our 14-day road trip at Days Inn by Wyndham Burns, and this was by far the worst lodging experience of our trip. If we hadn’t prepaid and driven seven hours, we would have kept going home.
Front Desk Chaos:
• Staff eating at the counter, surrounded by hoses, crumbs, and garbage.
• Seemed confused about check-in.
• Pool padlocked with hoses tangled around it; “might be unlocked if you insist.”
Property Issues:
• No WiFi.
• Many long-term residents; random items scattered everywhere.
• Crumbling sidewalks.
Room Nightmares:
• Key cards required 2–3 attempts.
• Bugs everywhere: cockroaches/other insects inside, flies in the room, yellowjackets outside.
• Cracked bathroom tiles and strange object above the TV.
• Employee repeatedly peered into our room.
• Foul smells: strong Lysol fading to dead-animal odor.
• Neighbor’s dog barked all night; flies made sleep impossible.
Breakfast Disaster:
• Same crumbs and garbage as the day before.
• Only basic loaf of bread—no muffins, pastries, or real options.
Other Concerns:
• Key card rules inconsistent; unattended cards left at the front desk.
• For the price, this was unacceptable. Half of what we paid in Elko, Nevada gave us an excellent stay, and Coalville, Utah, felt nearly like luxury.
Bottom Line:
This hotel needs new management, a total overhaul, and accurate advertising. Avoid unless you want a frightening, filthy, and stressful experience.
