We had a wonderful stay and got lucky being able to see the auroras at night! The space is indeed tiny but well thought out and we found it was enough space to be cozy and comfortable. Instructions on how to get to the lodge and how to take advantage of all the amenities were super clear. We were also very grateful for the laundry facilities. We enjoyed the sauna and views. Compared to other glass lodges around, this one is well priced for having a private sauna, hot tub and other amenities.

This place is magical! The lodge has everything you could need. The hot tub and sauna are amazing! The heated floors throughout felt amazing! Loved all the little touches. It was super clean and the beds were very comfortable! The shower was super hot. The space is well done. The best part is the views! Sleeping under the stars and seeing some northern nights was a dream!!! Waking up to a gorgeous sunrise was another wonderful bonus. Just looking at the views of the snow covered mountains and feeling like we had the world to ourselves made this place our favorite stay

I rarely write reviews but this deserves one. It is immaculately kept and peaceful. About 15-30 min to the Golden Circle sites, and Laugaras Lagoon is a quick 15 mins away. Lovely countryside view - the land stretches forever. Sadly, the aurora wasn’t out, but I did see a vivid, full-arc double rainbow and Icelandic horses. Nice touches like a washer/dryer with detergent, air fryer, bathrobes, crocs in 2 sizes, Bluetooth speaker, reed diffuser with a luxury scent, and TV projector. There are window blinds & an outdoor privacy screen for comfort. The lodge staff are great. I heard a rattling sound from a vent, so I messaged them and S— (name truncated for privacy) came within the hour to replace a part that had come loose in the wind. When I booked it, I wondered if this place would be worth it. So glad I did! Tips: -There are 2 lodges (Hekla & Katla) - drive to the end of the gravel road. -Kitchen had salt, pepper, oil, sugar, tea and Nespresso machine. For other stuff, I went to the Bonus grocery store in Selfoss ~30 mins away. Don’t overstock-it’s a mini fridge with a tiny freezer. -Messing with the temp settings can fog up windows. There were directions on how to fix this. -No closet or drawers, but there are wall hooks and a cabinet under the bookshelf that fit my 27.25 x 18 x 11 inch suitcase. -Check-in details are meant to come at 12am on arrival day. I didn’t get them, so I messaged staff via Expedia, and they replied quickly. -Enjoy!
