I booked a 2 night trip. The listing stated that we were staying in a “luxury town home”. Upon entering “Ocean song” we immediately noticed a moldy musty smell. The carpet was not clean. There was evidence of a leak in the ceiling that they attempted to paint over. It felt hard to breathe. The paint in the room was not very nice and the walls and trim were a bit abused. There was a large gap under the door and on the sides where you could see daylight. The coffee maker and station were quite dirty and disheveled. There was a black fake press on nail in the kitchen under the roll away island counter but just within eyesight. The beds all had shaggy fur blankets on them and there were visible handprints where someone had touched them all over. We took a short walk and after obsessing over the condition of the room, I informed the front desk that we couldn’t stay there due to the room conditions. She did not offer anything but for me to call the owner in the morning. Hotels.com was great and attempted multiple times to get me a refund since we did not stay here. They were unsuccessful due to this booking being “hotel pay”- I contacted the owner myself and am awaiting a possible refund for one of the nights.
