Binker Barn Reimagined
Unit 1 Block 1 Lot 2 . The wooden interior of “Binker Barn Revisited” sparkles with gem-like colors—brilliantly complementing the mellower tones of the outdoors—meadow, cypresses, sky, blue and white water. This home is one of the original “Binker Barns” designed by William Turnbull in the 1960s, reconceptualized in 2009 by Kay Kollar (an LA-based designer) and Douglas Thornley (a SF-based architect). (For more photos and descriptions, see /project/binker-barn/.) You will enter from the south, under a copper artichoke pendant and walk across a French art deco rug. The window seats give unobstructed view of the meadow and of the Pacific. The house also features a Yamaha studio upright piano, ready for an eager musical guest. Bed linens and towels are included.
