This unit was exactly as described and more! From the location to the amenities to the host and even the clean we couldn’t have asked for anything more! The kids had a great time as well as the adults. There’s a little something for everyone. If you’re looking to stay in the area I highly recommend this property, you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome place and location!

Property was very clean and well stocked. Hot tub, fire pit, pool table, and game cabinet were fully functional and well maintained. Beds were comfortable as were the multiple couches in the common and rec areas. DirectTv and internet functioned well; no issues to report. Knives were sharp! which is usually not the case at rentals for us! Had a great time with family and grandparents!

This was the best stocked cabin. I love to cook and it had everything we needed. They had games and entertainment for every age. The outdoor area was very easy to enjoy with the hot tub and fireplace. They even had wood and lighters. Stargazing was great and we saw a meteor!

Most beautiful place we've ever stayed

Our stay at Southern skies chalet was nothing short of amazing. The house was so clean and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. The decorations for Christmas made it even better. Walking in to a lit up Christmas tree and all of the decorations made me feel like I was going into a Hallmark movie. My kids and grandkids all enjoyed the amenities, especially the pool table downstairs and the games. We sat around the fire pit at night talking and laughing. Thank you so much for helping us make wonderful memories. We would love to come back again soon.

A Home Away From Home

Southern Skies Chalet was the BEST place we have ever stayed in all our years of VRBO rentals! It was supremely obvious that an incredible amount of thought was put into EVERY aspect of this home. From the incredibly well appointed kitchen (more cooking implements, serving dishes and utensils than I've ever seen!), to the blankets, throws and open shelving/guest spaces, to the bottom floor entertainment suite (the younger generations thank you for your attention to the games, gaming and karoake options!), to the fire pit which actually had ample amounts of fire wood, to the comfortable beds (yes, every single bed was actually comfortable and had sufficient bedding and blankets)...every area was well thought out and CLEAN...did I mention that simply every corner of the cabin was spotless?! Super close to downtown Helen (less than 15 minutes) and other state park areas as well. Words cannot describe how thrilled we were with this rental. In actuality, it should properly be labeled a "sharing of one's home" as that more accurately describes this experience! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will definitely rent here again!

Perfect relaxing stay

This cabin was a perfect family home with two floor plans. The patio views are gorgeous & so relaxing in the mornings while drinking coffee and in the evenings to sit and watch the sunset. As a family we had breakfast and dinner upstairs together, played board games/arcade games downstairs and made smores outside in the evening! We had the perfect amount of space and quality time together. Would definitely book again!!

best weekend ever

if you are wanting a safe and secure get away , this is the place. i highly recomend this place. we had the best time with our friends. the outdoor fire pit and hot tub were very popular for us. all teh sightseeing and shopping in helen were within minutes of the chalet.we just cant wait to come back in the summer to float down the river and shop more in helen.

Great place to stay

We enjoyed staying here very much. The set up is great with 2 master bedrooms upstairs and a bedroom/hangout/kids area downstairs. We have never stayed at a more well stocked VRBO. The outdoor space is very enjoyable (fire pit, grill and hot tub). The road to get there is fairly steep/curvy one car road but that's about what you get to stay on a mountain. It's very close to unicoi (went hiking and swimming) and downtown Helen. Owners easy to communicate with. Would 100% stay here again!

Beautiful home with everything and more! Beds were comfy, kitchen fully equipped and then some, lots to do with games, pool table, fire-pit, hot tub, or just relax. Plenty of room for everyone. Split floor plan was great for multiple families and friends. Close to everything. Absolutely loved it and great value for your money.

Awesome facility/home great views and location.

The property is awesome and the team at Southern Skies pretty much thought of everything. All of Helen is within few miles from the property. Enjoy ,spring is out in full view from the trees blooming and birds are singing all day long . Several wineries are near by and the same with some awesome water falls. There is just one thing, this property is up in the mountains ( which is a good thing) you will need an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle . ( which again is good thing) enjoy.

An amazing Oktoberfest getaway

Oh my goodness, where to begin. The property was everything we dreamed of and more. The kitchen has every appliance from a Belgian waffle maker to an electric tea, kettle, mixers, even a rice cooker! The appliances are brand new throughout the house. The pots and pans were amazing. Amazing quality. We cooked several meals. l The hot tub was also brand new. We loved the waterfall and lights. A nice surprising touch were all the amazing toys for my two-year-old. We had a 10-year-old with us as well and she loved the Dj pianos and drums. The fire pit, an indoor fireplace were also beautiful. And we loved that they even had all the wood chopped up and ready to go! Lastly, the beds were the most comfortable renta beds I’ve ever stayed on.

Fantastic Place!

We took my parents and 3 young kids for a long weekend stay at Southern Skies Chalet. The house was even better than in the pictures. The kitchen is well stocked with quality and clean items. We cooked a lot and it had everything we needed, even sharp knives, which is rare in rentals! The place was very clean and everything is either new or very well maintained. The hot tub and fire pit were fantastic, and the lights around them can be changed to different colors, which my kids loved. The arcade game and pool table were great entertainment for kids and adults. There were plenty of towels and blankets and extra towels just for the hot tub. The location was very private and had a great view. It's about a 10 min drive into Helen. I highly recommend this place. The entire trip we were commenting on how well thought out things were. The owner was great with providing information and even sent a video on how to use certain items in the house. We will certainly return in the future!

Perfect For Families

ATTENTION PARENTS WITH KIDS! Love going on vacation but hate having to go to sleep when you put the kids down? If so, this is the perfect Helen cabin for you! Love the idea of a cabin in the mountains but afraid the kids won’t have a flat space outside to run around? If so, this is the perfect Helen cabin for you! Two bedrooms upstairs for the kids…and a whole suite down below equipped with a mini kitchen, fridge, and freezer for the parents. Do it your way, but this worked best for us with a 6yo and 3yo and allowed us to spend time together without whispering and tip-toeing. Both the front and back yard have a decent amount of flat ground to allow the kids to run around without fear of tumbling down a hill. The owners were AWESOME. They’ve thought of everything! My wife could not get over how thorough their first aid kit was. Arcade game and hot tub were a hit! The cabin was incredibly clean. My wife is a neat-freak and didn’t feel the need to lift a finger when we got there. This will be our vacation spot for years to come…not necessarily because of how much we love Helen and the surrounding areas/towns, but because of how perfect this house suits what we are looking for in a vacation rental. I’ve spent time trying to think of a negative about this home but can’t come up with anything. Beautiful view of the mountains both day and night and we had deer in the yard on our last day there. Not to mention you get to downtown Helen in 10 minutes or less. LOVED THIS HOME!
