The Worst Hotel Experience of Our Lives – Stay Away from Hotel Mercury! We stayed at Hotel Mercury in Saranda from July 16th to 20th, and I genuinely cannot believe a place like this still operates. From the moment we arrived, it was a disaster of epic proportions. Upon arrival, there was no one at the reception desk. Just an empty, soulless lobby. After waiting around awkwardly, someone finally showed up and gave us a room with a sliding window that couldn’t even close properly — it was completely off the rails, with a huge gap letting in noise, bugs, and heat. When we politely reported the issue, the staff literally laughed in our faces. They called us liars and scammers, accusing us of inventing the problem. We asked for a different room, only to be told there were none available — and then they had the audacity to say we could have a downgraded room if we didn’t like it. Absolutely unbelievable. We refused and stayed put in our current room, despite feeling completely unwelcome and humiliated. I even cried tbh. Eventually, they showed up at our room and we were offered another room. We were thankful at the moment, but if we thought things would improve — we were wrong. The shower barely worked, spraying water in every direction except where it should. The ceiling had mold stains, and the bedsheets were stained and filthy. Basic hygiene and maintenance? Non-existent. When we asked if we could check out early and pay only for the nights we stayed, we were told absolut
