The mechanical system in the room was problematic. It appeared that there were two different controls for the heat, a typical wall control (old style) and a remote control. I used the remote control to set the temp at 68 degrees. When we returned from dinner the room was very hot and the HVAC unit was blowing hot air. After some playing around with the two controls I got the AC to cool the room down, then had a problem turning it off! Also, the cold water from the sink was warm to hot. Last, when we checked out we were charged $80 ($40 per night) for "Hotel Services," which was not identified when we made the reservations. The desk clerks were friendly as was the bell men. Restaurant staff and bar staff were indifferent. We have stayed at this facility in the past and that was part of the motivation to stay again, even though the price per night was very high, even for Santa Fe. My wife very much enjoyed her massage with Donna on Saturday. I have to say the staff was very hospitable. I am pretty sure that it was Devlin who checked us in. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. After a 7 hour drive which ended in some very wet and snowy conditions in the Santa Fe area, Devlin made the check in process very easy and was very helpful with his directions to our great room. Thanks to you all.

Great staff, wonderful bar, beautiful architectur.

The location, the grounds and the lovely Staab House bar were the best things about the stay. Our king bed fireplace room was fine but very small. Plastic cups in the bathroom and paper cups for the a espresso felt a bit like a typical budget hotel, not a luxury resort. There was an industrial motor/humming sound much of the night in our room. On the bright side, we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves on February 1! Every staff person was excellent— friendly and helpful.
