I booked a 1-night stay in St. Jose via Expedia 2 months in advance. A week before my stay I tried to confirm my reservation via the Hilton app and chat features. However, the representative could not find my reservation, with my name OR the confirmation code provided by Expedia. So I had to call the hotel directly. This call lasted 18 minutes because they also initially could not find my reservation; however, since I had already paid for my stay, the rep was able to locate it under my last name listed as my first name and a completely different spelling of my unique first name. Why on earth would someone change the spelling of my name, I have no idea. This almost 20-minute call cost me $50 in international fees!!! Once I arrived at the location, they placed me in a king room when I reserved a double bedroom for me and my mom. Somehow this was also changed post my Expedia reservation and payment. The room was limited and not worth the price. Very disappointing experience. Thankfully, the rest of my stay in Limon, CR was EPIC!
