Wow! The inner courtyard/atrium has to be seen to believe . I love the quaint sense of oldness, with old pianos and organs decorating the halls. There IS an elevator, but not any hot tob or pool.

Couple get-a-way

The hotel is lovely. The courtyard is nice and open, great place to sit and read after all the walking in Gaslamp District. The gas fireplace was a nice touch!!

We love the Horton, usually stay there 5 or 6 times a year. They were a little off their game this weekend. The hotel room had a sewer order coming from the sink that got bad when you ran the water, but we got faint hints of it randomly during our stay. When we checked out we stood in front of the hotel for about 10 minutes waiting for valet, finally went inside and the guy working the front said he thought we were waiting for an Uber. Dude, we were standing right by the valley stand lol. Great hotel, we’ll be back again soon, just not their best effort this time.

I enjoyed this hotel and if ever back in San Diego I’ll stay here again. The location is perfect.it is walking distance to Petco Park, public transportation and Fifth Avenue. The lady at the front desk, I unfortunately never got her name, was so nice. The salt and whiskey restaurant was excellent as well.

The restaurant was very good , we had salmon risotto , it was perfectly cooked. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine cocktail selections. We really enjoyed the stay. Would suggest coffee service in the lobby though because the restaurant isn’t open in the morning. Also the beds are very comfortable and it was very quiet in the room!

The property has character but the rooms are the most basic you can find bordering uncomfortable. Staff is not the friendliest nor the most helpful. The Area is full of homeless people but room is cheap and close to marina and close to restaurants and bars in the gaslamp area

It was nice however, the front desk clerk wasn’t friendly or nice at all. The clerk in the morning was much better. Wasn’t happy about having to pay fees as soon as I got there. When I paid in Full before my stay. And 59 dollars for valet a day is disgusting . Would NOT recommend
