Fantastic hotel, Fantastic atmosphere. Love that the hotel was originally a bank built in 1928. Staff was always very pleasant and helpful. Ordered room service for breakfast and it arrived quickly and was quite delicious. Valet staff was also very helpful and courteous. Will definitely stay here again.

The only drawback is that it is located downtown and there are a lot of homeless in the area. However the hotel is very accessible to other areas of the city which also have a homeless problem. We did not find the restaurant to be anything special however there are many good options within walking distance. Overall a great stay

The building is an adaptation of a gorgeous old bank building. Truly stunning. And the room was very nice. They were a bit understaffed during check-in—only one person. But other than that one time, well staffed and attentive. The location was extremely convenient to Balboa Park, other downtown attractions (on the same block as House of Blues!), the trolley and freeways. Do be aware that, like most downtowns, there were some unhoused people in the area, but they never bothered us as we passed by.
