Charming cottage in North Park

We love our cottage but of course our opinion is biased. Please click on 'Reviews' for unbiased opinions.
That said... North Park is a lively and fun community. Walk to hip restaurants, cafes, wine bars, brew pubs, shops and fitness centers. We are 2 blocks and a 5 minute walk to Balboa Park's Morley Field where you will find hiking and running trails, a community pool, tennis, golf, an athletic complex, picnic areas, bike track, bocci court, tiny tots play area, and more. A bit farther into the park are the zoo and many museums -- still walking distance or a short ride. You will be 5-10 minutes from downtown hot spots -- Gaslamp, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Convention Center. Only 10 minutes to Coronado Island, a world class destination with beautiful, expansive white sand beaches. Seaworld is about 15 minutes via nearby highway, and easy access to the San Diego Zoo, museums and literally dozens of local restaurants and bars. Balboa Park measuring approximately 1.5 x 1.5 miles and 1200 acres in size, it is one of the largest urban parks in the country and is 2 blocks away.

Built in 1911, our 105 year old stable has been converted to a charming and comfortable 2 bedroom cottage complete with all the amenities of home.
Here are just a few:
Full kitchen with all the utensils needed to prepare a gourmet meal. Heated tile floors in the bathroom and a new walk in shower, hair dryer, quality shampoo and body wash, plenty of plush towels. Queen-size bed with memory foam mattress top (you will this see mentioned in our guest reviews.) Twin bed in the back bedroom and a full open closet, with a separate laundry room with front load washer and dryer and detergents. Broadband internet access with WIFI and a printer/scanner. HD Cable TV, Blu-ray player, Netflix, Pandora web browser & Bose Speaker to play your music from your iPhone, and more. Private fenced in patio with stainless steel 3-burner BBQ where you can relax after the day's explorations with a glass of wine, while being soothed by the rippling sounds of a water fountain that continually flows.
There are endless amazing restaurants in San Diego, but if you find you want to cook in one night, we have an herb garden full of rosemary, sage and thyme as well a beautiful lemon tree outside the cottage, there for your pleasure in picking fresh herbs for your culinary delights.

Our neighborhood is one of the most desired in North Park and is comprised of many welcoming and friendly neighbors and is quiet, yet a short walk to lively nightlife. You also have ample street parking in front of the cottage.

Incredible property and neighborhood!

Could not say enough good things! The cottage was perfect for my family - my husband and infant daughter. The property was clean and looked exactly like the photos. The neighborhood was quiet with amazing food and coffee shops just a couple blocks away. North Park as home base was perfect for exploring Coranado, downtown and Balboa Park. We will be staying here again!

Really nice cabin, quiet area and easy parking

We really enjoyed our stay here! The cabin was cute and a perfect size for 2 adults and a kid, and felt like home. My daughter enjoyed having her own room, and the beds were all super comfy. Appliances were in good shape. Oliver the cat’s visit was a nice bonus and we even picked a few lemons. Great location for visiting the zoo and petco park. The little Italy farmers market was fairly close and lots of fun as well. We hope to be back again!

Awesome location, great for our toddler!

This was our first family vacation since our almost 2 year old was born and we had a great time! The location is unbeatable! Just blocks from Balboa park, two playgrounds that are toddler appropriate, and tons of great coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries, with a target and grocery stores in walking distance. Once we arrived, we were able to do everything we wanted to do via stroller and public transit. The walk to the zoo and cultural areas is good exercise but very doable with a jogging stroller (look up bike directions to get to the zoo parking lot and do not be tricked by maps that try to route you on canyon hiking trails), and there is a good byline to downtown on 30th street with a stop just a block south of the cottage. Cute cottage in great neighborhood

This is lovely little cottage nestled behind a cute Craftsman. It’s comfortable, well appointed and charming. The neighborhood is safe and walkable. The heated floor in the bath was a surprise and most welcome. The owner is responsive and friendly.

Amazing Location, Bright & Cozy

I go to SD once a year to see my cousin and get some West coast rays during winter! I have two foster sons with me now and stayed at this VRBO with my 2 yo and 17 yo. It was perfect. Very Very Bright and welcoming! I will stay again next winter!

Everything was fantastic. The cottage was easy to locate with ample parking. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, and the neighborhood was cute and safe. Beautiful Cottage

We spent two days and two nights at this cottage and loved it. Everything is clean and it is in great condition. Also, it is perfectly located because it is walking distance to Balboa Park and different restaurants. There are also dedicated bike paths close by. We would certainly stay here again and we highly recommend this cottage.

Adorable Cottage in Established North Park Neighborhood

We had a lovely time in this property - even met the owner and chatted a bit. Full kitchen and laundry — which is definitely a bonus if you stay more than a day or two. Parking was a breeze and always managed to get a spot within about 10-15’ from the front of the property. Everything was exactly as stated and we’ll do it again in the future!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The property manager was extremely helpful and responsive to our requests. She took time to make sure that we were comfortable in her home. The neighborhood is lovely and the patio area around the cottage was a bonus.
