Very spacious apartment (55M2) completely renovated. Integrated kitchen open to the living room, a bedroom with a view of the river, bathroom with shower and bathtub and separate WC. Possibility of a portable bed for one person in the living room. Magnificent terrace overlooking the river.
The staircase leading to the gîte is quite narrow and steep and may not be suitable for some people who have difficulty getting around (don't hesitate to ask for more information).

Super Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is in a stunningly beautiful setting with easy access to the river for canoeing and swimming. The gite was a generous size for a couple and was well equipped. Our hosts were friendly and very welcoming. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and would have been very happy to stay on for another week. We hope to return.

Wonderful 10/10!

We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of September and would happily go back again. The apartment has every amenity needed for a relaxing and peaceful holiday and the gardens are lovely. As the owner says, the stairs up to the apartment are not suitable for anyone with limited mobility but other than that, we would highly recommend it.

Great place to stay

A lovely property right on the river, enjoyed a spot of fishing and a nice dip in the river. The only downside was that the steps leading to the property were extremely hazardous when wet.

Beautiful location- made more special by Natasha as a host

We booked for an overnight stay with evening meal , en route to Dordogne for 2 weeks! The photos definitely don’t do this place justice. The mere fact that it’s off the beaten track makes it peaceful and unique. We were welcomed with a glass of wine, and sat in the dining area, admiring the chickens! If that doesn’t relax you, nothing will! We met other 2 couples staying there and shared a meal together that evening ( Bianca and Leo) Language may have been a barrier as we don’t speak any Dutch, but it was almost 23:00 before we realised, we had been chatting for 4 hours! If the rest of our holidays turn out to be this good, we were in for a treat! Natasha went out of her way to cater for 2 vegetarians, who don’t eat eggs either! So to make a vegan barbecue is no mean feat😀

An idyllic stay!

We LOVED our stay here! The apartment was even better than photographs and had everything we needed. We visited several places but also loved just sitting on the terrace with the view of the river, bird song and the sound of the water and walking through the glorious garden. Nathalie and Thierry were wonderful hosts and provided a few thoughtful items. The only word of caution would be that anyone with poor mobility would not manage the steps which are steep and narrow. We didn’t have a problem even though we are a mature couple but it would be something to bear in mind and it is mentioned on the property details. All in all we would highly recommend a stay here ffor peace, rest and tranquility.

Serene Gite on the river

This is a fabulous place to to stay, I can’t rate it highly enough, beautiful gardens, on the river and you are able to swim and canoe. Close enough to town but far enough a way. The hosts are very accommodating and unobtrusive. Great place for touring the Dordongne.

Complete calm in a beautiful setting

The Moulin des Bigoussies is a lovely setting and the gîte was perfect for us - clean, freshly decorated, light and airy and feels very spacious; two balconies to enjoy the evening light or just hang out and watch birds while drinking wine. The gardens, too, are a delight along the riverside. Le Moulin is very close to amenities in Riberac and many things to see in the area. Nathalie was a lovely host who answered all questions and made us feel very welcome. We were sad to leave such a beautiful place.

Fantastic location & excellent gite!

This great gite is set on a beautiful river, with the terrace looking directly onto the river. The location & view is stunning! The gite was very clean, extremely well set up, with very modern & stylish furniture. The hosts were very welcoming & helpful, and live nearby. We went canoeing on the river, and sat in the peaceful gardens. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you very much.

What a find! If we would be traveling and happen upon the setting of this gite we would consider ourselves very lucky...and to stay we were in heaven. Our gite was overlooking the river with our balcony above the fast flowing stream making a soothing sound for both sitting on the outdoor furniture to listening to the river during your sleep. One cannot wish for more. Natalie was very helpful in answering any questions we had and provided food for breakfast the first morning. My wife and I wouild usually come back from our outings early just to enjoy the setting and have a leisurely dinner. The kitchen is well stocked and the town of Riberac (3 km away) provides all your needs for food. If you are looking for a memorable gite do not hesitate to book Natalie's beautiful apartments! Amazing place run by a great couple!

Beautiful mill house, incredible views, sun rises/sets, stunning grounds. All very natural. Particularly enjoyed taking the canoe up the Drone with sightings of kingfishers, herons, large birds of prey, and various varieties of fish, both small and large.

We found the apartment very modern all mod cons very bright and sunny with the peaceful sound of the river close by which was very relaxing.the balcony overlooked the river and was nice to chill with a beer or a glass of local wine highly recommended.

Great accommodation in a great enviroment!

Well looked after apartment, very clean and modern inside, well equipped, very friendly hosts (do speak English) and a great starting point to explore the Dordogne. Also recommended for cyclists! Nearby Riberac (2miles) offers everything from restaurants to weekly market. Would always go back to have holidays there again!

It was like a little piece of paradise

I can't rate this property highly enough. The perfect place to relax and escape from "life" for a week. Beautiful cottage and breathtaking views and scenery. The hosts were perfect, lovely friendly people. Not intrusive but were there if needed. Nathalie even left us breakfast items for our first evening, her home made jam was delicious. The weather was very hot so we made use of the canoes and swam in the river. I am sad to have left but will return again I hope.

Absolutely fantastic holiday and so glad we booked to stay for a week. Location as stunning as the pictures on the website. In fact even better than we imagined. Views to die for from our terrace; sitting watching the river and wildlife. Great for a quiet get away from it all, but places to visit and things to do in this area of the Dordogne. Nathalie and Thierry were great hosts - never intruding but there when we needed them. Highlight was a great evening in their company and a chance to meet their friends and sample French hospitality at its very best. Would we come back? Of Course! Des vacances absolument géniales et nous sommes tellement contents d'avoir réservé pour toute une semaine. Le cadre est aussi étonnant que sur les images du site. En fait, même mieux que nous l'imaginions. Des vues imprenables à partir de notre terrasse, assis en regardant la rivière et la faune. C'est un endroit Idéal pour une escapade tranquille, mais avec des sites à visiter et des activités à faire dans cette région de la Dordogne. Nathalie et Thierry étaient des hôtes géniaux - toujours discrets mais présents quand nous en avions besoin. Le point culminant a été une excellente soirée dans leur compagnie et une opportunité de rencontrer leurs amis et en découvrant l'hospitalité française de son meilleur côté.Et est-ce nous reviendrons? Mais bien sûr!

A beautiful, tranquil property with fantastic views and access. Simply wonderful.

La Maillerie is a wonderful gîte in a converted mill on the river Dronne just a short distance from Riberac. The owners Nathalie and Thierry made us feel incredibly welcome and we were met on arrival for a quick tour of the property. The property itself is beautifully decorated whilst maintaining the look and feel of the mill, not to mention a river view from the terrace!! A modern bathroom and kitchen/living area compliment the history of the building. There is also private access to the river for swimming and canoeing, which we made the most of! This area of the Dordogne is simply beautiful with very many interesting places to visit, Brantôme and Bourdeilles just two to mention. It is peaceful and rural - just what we wanted. We absolutely loved our time there, made all the more special by staying in this property - we could not have chosen a better place and were very sad to leave. We can highly recommend a stay in la Maillerie.

Oase van rust aan heerlijk stromend water.

Deze plek is door de eigenaars prachtig en comfortabel ingericht. Tijdens ons verblijf waren er werkzaamheden aan het huis van de eigenaars, we hebben daar niet heel veel last van gehad. Het eigen terras voor de gîte is heerlijk en geeft mooi uitzicht over de rivier en het groen eromheen. De tuin is groot, prachtig aangelegd en heerlijk rustig. Je kan in ligstoelen aan de oever zitten waar het water heerlijk voorbij ruist. Er zijn 2 kano’s waar je gebruik van mag maken. En dat is echt een aanrader. Je kan heerlijk een eind de Dronne afroeien, heel rustgevend! De eigenaren Nathalie en Thierry zijn zeer vriendelijk en meteen bereid te helpen wanneer je vragen hebt. In de omgeving is genoeg te zien en te doen. Een prachtig stukje in de Dordogne. Wij bevelen dit verblijf zeker aan als je rust en ruimte zoekt.

A fairy tale part two...

After our first visit in 2022 we returned in June 2024 with and fell in love with this unique place again. The river Dronne has a strong sound here which makes you want to listen and helps you to relax and to forget your worries at the same time. You’re living next to the river in this beautiful gîte, enjoying an extraordinary view from the terrace (and the other windows, too). You can have your meals there or just read a book and relax on the terrace couch. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare your meals, including oven, microwave and a big fridge. In the bedroom you’ll find a comfortable king size bed. You can hear the river here, too, but softer and well-tempered. We’ve spent many days just enjoying this awesome place, not to forget the beautifully wild garden along the river bank. There’s a base where you can just rest in the sun and tree shadows or step into the water and have a swim in the cool fresh river. There’s the possibility to use canoes to row upriver. Although you’ll find your peace here, you’re not far away from food supply and interesting places. Ribérac is just a short drive away and has a charming farmer’s market as well as well-equipped supermarkets and bakeries. We did some nice hiking tours in the surrounding. If you’re seeking for more exciting sights, you can visit Perigueux, Brantôme, La Tour Blanche, Aubeterre or Lascaux. Our hosts have been very kind and accommodating again.
