Quinta de Marka is a magical wine villa in a picture-perfect setting overlooking the best area of the Douro Valley, away from the busy tourist activities but easily accessible to them by train. The accommodations were very comfortable, the food was great, but the true secret ingredient was the people. Everyone, starting with Angela (the manager), her sister Anabela, and all the staff were extremely warm, helpful, and truly felt like friends by the time we left. We could not have asked for anything better

Angela, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. So is her sister. She even invited one friend to sing with her for the guests before dinner on Thursday. I also enjoyed talking with one of the owners Carlos about plats and vineyards and winemaking in the region. The entire property was beautifully designed and maintained with a variety of plants, in addition to the vines.

Loved this hotel! Amazing views and wonderful staff. Angela was so helpful in getting us a reservation at a nearby vineyard for a tour and tasting. You’ll definitely need a car, as there really is nothing within walking distance. If you want to get away from it all and enjoy amazing views of the valley in a quiet environment, this is the place for you. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Our meal at dinner was very good, and so was the complimentary breakfast. There are other restaurants down by the river, but it's a bit of a drive on narrow, winding roads. I would not recommend driving them in the dark. No reason to really go anywhere else while at Da Marka. They have everything you need right there. Highly recommend this spot! One minor issue was that the walls of the rooms are pretty thin, so you can hear your neighbors moving around and toilets flushing, but guests were generally quiet.

We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. Angela was so helpful in getting us checked in and recommending things to do. We would recommend this to anyone heading to the Duoro Valley!

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and felt at home. The views from here are just amazing. We would have been happy to have stayed on the terrace all day. All of the staff are so lovely. Angela made sure we were happy and gave us advice on where to visit. Renn & Rosa looked after us at Breakfast & Dinner and cared so much. Milene cooked amazing food each evening there was no need to go out. Thank you everyone we will be back.

My stay at Quinta da Marka was amazing! Angela is so wonderful. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and enjoy the experience. She even drove me to and from the train station and to the wineries nearby. The rest of the team is also very kind and helpful. The property is impeccable!
