Lovely cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, the location was very convenient and it was spacious enough for the two of us plus my dog. Due to the high ceilings we needed to have fires in the evenings and the Wi-Fi wasn’t the strongest with two of us using it at the same time. The garden was a good size for my dog with plenty of space to explore safely. Overall, I would recommend staying at the property..

Well stocked and well thought out cottage
Just spent 3 days at the cottage as 4 adults and had a lovely time. We were aware before booking that there was just one bathroom and no spare loo but this was fine and other amenities made up for it. Lots of little touches that had been thought through like the provision of a throw and hooks on the bedroom doors. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and the dishwasher worked well. The TV in the lounge was very good and comfortably seated us all around it. Most importantly it was easy to park for 2 cars.

Lovely cottage in super location
I enjoyed a lovely break in a beautiful home. Very convenient location and close enough to walk to Appley Beach for my dog. Everything you could need in the home (not sure it mentioned a freezer but it has one for your convenience. I either overlooked this on description or it doesn’t mention it but it’s definitely a bonus).

Short stay in stunning property
We rented this property while visiting family on the Island.
Gorgeous home, had everything you need with the added bonus of a games room which helped keep the kids amused when the weather wasn’t on our side.
Surprise welcome gift of wine and biscuits very much appreciated.
Wish we had longer there.
Many thanks Jane

Great cottage Great Location
We spent a week in the cottage and it was wonderful.
The location was brilliant to be able to walk into Ryde and having the off road parking made coming and going a breeze.
I was a little unsure how cold or damp an old cottage would feel especially visiting in the winter. The cottage was perfect and we didn’t need to light a fire to keep warm on cold nights.
We may even come back with the family in the summer!

My dog loved it - and so did I
A lovely period cottage with plenty of space and everything you could wish for by way of equipment and facilities. The hostess Jane was not on site but her welcome and greeting on arrival couldn't have been more hospitable. She even phoned me to check I was comfortable and that everything was in order. I stayed over Christmas so didn't get the chance to eat dinner al fresco on the decking, but my dog appreciated the secure fenced garden. The location in Ryde is excellent - just a few minutes walk to the town centre or in the opposite direction down a secluded pathway to a "secret" beach. Gwydyr House is highly recommended by me and my dog!

Gorgeous cottage property that's great for dog owners
When you hear cottage a small property springs to mind but this is definitely not the case with Gwydyr Cottage. This spacious two-bedroom, two-storey property with a large secure garden (which was great for those travelling with two dogs like us) was perfect for our holiday in Ryde. The property is warm and welcoming and has been tastefully decorated by the owner. We really appreciated being able to relax in the lounge and conservatory at the end of the day and being able to have dinner on the deck overlooking the garden was an added bonus. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of freezer/fridge space and another dining table (in addition to the one in the lounge as well as the large garden table with parasol). There are two good-sized bedrooms and the main bedroom which we used had plenty of wardrobe space. Communication with Jane (the owner/host) was really good prior to arrival and Jane also went out of her way to help us with our stay when needed which was very much appreciated. Ryde is well located with a short drive to access the lovely beaches on the East coast of the Isle of Wight (Seaview, Bembridge and Yaverland) as well as Newport and Cowes. We would definitely recommend Gwydyr House, especially to those travelling with their dog(s).
