The property is beautiful, and obviously Roatan is amazing. However, the staff is not friendly, even though you are paying high prices for a 5 star hotel. I asked for late checkout and they only gave me until 11 30 am not 1pm. Didn't allow early check in. The rooms don't have coffee pots to make coffee, you have to ask for it. No transportation to airport. Transportation is super expensive, so if you are planning on going to West End to look for different dinner options, I would rent a car. Also, I didn't give a 5 star because the hotel freezes 200$ from your credit card. It's been over a week since I checked out, and I still don't have the deposit back in my credit card. Ao keep in mind all of this before you book.

This is probably the nicest resort on the island, very tastefully done and awesome setting in its own little cove of calm, blue water. The upgrade to the 800 square feet suite is not worth it, it’s in a different building and all it really offers is a full kitchen which we didn’t really use. Our friends booked the standard rooms and had great views and larger bathrooms, plus convenience of being in the main building. Food and drinks are expensive, it’s about $75 per couple with taxes and gratuities for an average breakfast buffet each morning. We walked down the street to the coffee shop and spent less than half that. Plenty of good restaurants on and off resort, just take the water taxi up the shore to any beach front restaurant, we were never disappointed. Night life in West Bay Area is non-existent, everything shuts down at 9pm. West end is better and it’s about 10 minutes by water taxi, usually $5 per person each way. This is an absolutely beautiful resort and island, we will be back and stay at the Kimpton!

My boy friend surprised me with my sisters showing up for our wedding proposal and they gave them the most smallest room I have ever seen. When they hooked the picture was a king bed there room had a Queen. The room was so far away from ours and it was exhausting walking back and forth. We didn’t get to spend to much time together.

Beautiful property. Great ambiance and friendly staff. We had a bungalow and the ceiling fan motor was not working properly and we called for maintenance and it was replaced within an hour. Unbelievable response. We were asked by several staff how our stay was and if there was anything they needed to do to improve. If you are wondering if it’s worth it, the answer is a big YES. You will love it here. They’ve thought of everything

Don't stay here.

Unfriendly service. Hotel was over packed. They had a wedding and that took precedence over all other guests. Due to wedding, more than ½ the property was closed to regular guests. We had dirty towels in our room.

Very nice but fell short in places

The location and facility as a whole were wonderful, but we did have some negative experiences...1. Their fire alarm kept going off day and night. It must have happened 15 + times in the 5 days we were there. 2. Even though I had paid upfront through hotels.com they were unable to find my reservation and we ended up not getting the type of room we had booked and weren't able to check in until 4:45 in the afternoon. 3. You aren't supposed to drink the tap water so you have to wander out into the lobby any time you want water. For a high end hotel why don't they deliver a pitcher of water to your room? 4. Booked a fishing trip through the concierge and ended up not getting the captain that we thought we were getting plus the replacement was 25 minutes late. This is a very nice place but for the money it fell short of on some levels.

The property is beautiful with lots of activities. Only complaint was beach chair area. When guest would leave area, workers did not clean. So other guests showed up, these areas were dirty!! It would take a long time to find an employee to clean and freshen. Also on multiple occasions ran out of pool towels. Other than that everything was wonderful! Belky in reception was so welcoming with a big smile.

Everything was perfect my only issue was a 4 night stay and having to remind house keeping to clean the room or ask for more towels . Pool area needs more tending to /debris in the pool . Having a net near by would be perfect for that issue . Otherwise fantastic stay and very luxurious
