Sassafras Treehouse | Secluded Forest Retreat on Lookout Mountain
Escape to Sassafras Treehouse, a private treetop retreat tucked away on Lookout Mountain. Designed for slowing down, breathing deeper, and reconnecting with nature, this one-of-a-kind stay invites you to wake up to mountain sunrises and end your days in complete forest stillness.
Set on 18 secluded acres filled with boulders, mountain laurel, and sassafras trees, the treehouse blends naturally into its surroundings. Built with intention and character, it features reclaimed materials throughout—heart pine floors, salvaged 100-year-old furniture wood, and architectural elements with their own unique history. Thoughtful touches like an antique Dutch door from Asheville and barn-style accents add warmth, charm, and timeless detail.
Like all treehouses, the structure may gently sway in higher winds. It was built from a Treehouse Masters-inspired plan with additional bracing for stability.
