Cleaning staff had no schedule. One day we were woken at 10:00, the next they didn’t show up until we called at 5:00pm and this morning they cleaned out our room while we were at breakfast. Toilet broke twice. Air conditioning didn’t work properly. When I called the front desk to discuss they hung up on me.

Not so good

The Sands had two events scheduled in their conference rooms the first two nights we were there. They were very loud. We also had little kids running up and down the hallways screaming the first two days. Obnoxious. The kids in the pool screamed and got in our way most days. Not what we expected. Don't think we'll go back there.

Great location. Beach followed by pool every day. Attentive wait staff re: food and drink, although one day there was an error with the bill. Rooms are spacious and clean, but we had to ask for 2 towels because only 2 were in the room and we are a family of 4. Out 2nd to last day there, we were down to 1/3 roll of TP but maid service did not replenish. Also the Keurig in the room did not work. Overall good but some issues.

Had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend. I wish there were two pools though. Maybe an indoor pool too. The pool was always packed and not enough lounge chairs for others. Some people reserving chairs for other people.

The shower system was STUPID. The entrance door was hitting the ceiling light when you opened it. Instead of putting a smaller light in someone had cut off the top of the door to make the door open, but it still hit the light.

Ok, but not great

Location was great, staff was friendly, and rooms were cleaner/more updated than I expected them to be, but that's where the good part ends. Elevators were ancient and incredibly slow. Sometimes we had to wait 5+ minutes for an elevator to even open. Never enough towels. No way to call housekeeping for more towels/blankets/pillows, so had to walk down to the front desk each time. 2 out of the 3 mornings we woke up in the hotel, we were woken up by the fire alarm going off. Condition of room was decent, but the rest of the hotel (hallways, atrium, etc.) were very dated/run down. Bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable beds we've experienced in a hotel, and they were doubles instead of queens.

This was our third time using this facility. It has been about three years and I was shocked by how this place has aged. The staff seemed inconvenienced when we came to check in. The staff did not know when the chairs would be set out on the beach - even asked me to come back and let them know!?! Paid over $700 for two nights, but it felt like Motel 6.
