My wife was traveling with me on a business trip so we reserved a room for a moderately good price through hotels.com that welcomed pets. Our german shepherd was traveling with us. We expected to pay a pet fee but were surprised when they told us it would be $50.00. We expected the room to be decent because they charge such a premium, make you sign the most extensive pet policy I have ever signed and inform you that you will be held financially responsible for any damage or messes your pet creates. That is reasonable except they don't appear to use those funds to make pet caused repairs(an example the leather headboard was absolutely shredded and appeared to have been that way for some time). I don't suppose I would have felt inclined to leave a review over this if the night clerk had not seemed bothered by our arrival. I can't picture returning even considering the very friendly morning staff and very beautiful grounds.

Check in process was slow and we were told our room would be ready in an hour 3 hours in a row. Housekeeping services are only available for 4 night stays. I would expect more for the price we paid. We stayed here several times years ago and felt it has not kept up with the quality of service. The grounds are beautiful however.

Key cards need to get updated. Was locked out of my room 4x in the two day visit. Our room was supposed to have a hot tub, it had one, but no water in it.

The property was very beautiful, and well kept up. However, the rooms are so outdated and in such poor shape it is not worth the price. The headboard was coming apart, as was the coffee table. Chips and missing pieces of fabric were everywhere. The bathroom had many chipped tiles, the smell in the room was like my grandmothers house (old and musty) and the furniture including the bed was so stiff it made for a very unpleasant experience. We stayed in a "suite" for our anniversary and I was so disgusted and disappointed with everything. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The room smelled of pet urine as soon as we opened the door. Considering the fact that we were required to pay an up front PET fee for our 7 lb dog who is completely housebroken and has never, ever, broken a rule in any hotel room (or our home, for that matter) we found the stench offensive. It’s a shame this property does not take better care to make sure this smell is not removed. The cost for one night was &150.44 plus the $75 pet fee. That fee alone should more than cover the cost of steam cleaning the room. Otherwise, the stay was ok.

Too spread out

The complex was too spread out for us. No breakfast with the price of the room. Facilities seemed outdated and old. Not very family friendly.
