The location was great, and the staff was very nice. The pool, hot tub, and changing room areas were clean. We had dinner at the HIY Restaurant one night and brunch on Sunday, both of which were excellent. The service was fabulous, and I want to give a shoutout to our waitress Mackenzie and the kitchen staff for accommodating my four-year-old by providing chicken fingers and fries, even though it wasn't on the menu. I used to love staying at this hotel when it was the Sheraton nearly ten years ago. Back then, the rooms were really nice and well-appointed, and I always felt spoiled during my stays. Unfortunately, the rooms haven't changed since then, and it shows. The furniture is worn out, the carpet needs replacing, and there are no amenities offered aside from shampoo and conditioner in the shower. There wasn't even a bottled water, which is typically a standard offering in hotels, even in those that are less expensive. However, there was coffee and tea available with a Keurig, but I didn’t use that. What really disappointed me was the smell of cigarette smoke lingering throughout the hotel, likely from the casino downstairs. Additionally, I was frustrated with the TV. I had looked forward to connecting my Chromecast to watch a movie with my son, which has never been a problem in other hotels. However, despite following the provided instructions and troubleshooting tips, it wouldn’t connect, which put a damper on our evening, adding to the disappointment.
