This hotel was modern, beautiful and very clean. We had a nice balcony where monkeys even came to visit complete with some early wake-up calls! Watching a monkey run across the balcony was hilarious and we loved every moment. The wildlife was amazing too - they even have two iguanas by the pool which we loved seeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is super convenient, close to the beach, stores and restaurants. We will definitely be back. We really love this hotel!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. You are so close to Manuel Antonio park and the beach with a good choice or bars and restaurants. La Vela Boutique has a small pool which is not busy so getting a sunbed in the afternoon isn’t a problem. Big shout out to the pizza chef who managed to prepare and cook 2 superb pizzas during a power cut under the torchlight of an iPhone. A great place to stay..

We could not be happier with this hotel experience, really the highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica. Located perfectly between the beach and the entrance to the national park, La Vela is basically in the forest itself, with monkeys and iguanas regular visitors to its outdoor "hallways." Staff was kind and accommodating, pizza at the bar was a wonderful easy meal, and the rooms were clean and bright. Highly, highly recommend.

Breakfast and the pool area were great. Location was great. Staff was very friendly. The room was just OK. Do not like air conditioner blowing on the bed should be located away from the bed. Rooms were musty. Didn't like the barn door to bathroom that was hard to move and the location of the room in back by the woods and couldn't use the patio because of the rain. Other rooms could still use their patio.
