I recently stayed at Hotel Auberge Québec and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the bedroom and sheets were clean, and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful throughout my stay. The staff in general were responsive and quick to assist when needed, which I appreciated. However, the bathroom cleanliness left something to be desired. The toilet and bathtub could definitely use a deep clean with bleach, as there was noticeable pink and orange mold, which shouldn't be there. Additionally, the hotel hallway had a bit of an unpleasant odor, which detracted from the overall impression of cleanliness. Overall, the service and bedroom were solid, but some attention to deep cleaning, especially in the bathroom, would go a long way in improving the guest experience.

We stayed one night in Quebec and chose this hotel primarily for the price. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but the pictures made it look much nicer than it was. The hotel was very dated and had a strange smell throughout, and the images of the pool area, rooms, and general space were deceiving. The check-in time was inconvenient at 5:00 PM, which I overlooked. Even when I called ahead to request an early check-in, the staff, although nice, were not very accommodating and didn’t even consider it, which was surprising given the hotel wasn’t busy when we arrived. Inside, getting to our room was awkward: we had to walk down a hall, go downstairs, and then take an elevator. The room itself was disappointing—the furniture was outdated, the carpets were dirty, and there was a weird cabinet by one of the beds. There was also no plug for the lamp beside the bedside table, which was inconvenient. The pool area’s hours were also not clearly communicated—we expected it to be open until at least 9 or 10 PM, but it closed at 8 PM, which didn’t make sense for a summer evening. To top it off, the bottom door to the hotel didn’t lock, which was a huge security concern. My boyfriend tested it even at night, and it never locked. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. I would have left immediately if we weren’t so tired from traveling. If safety and comfort matter to you, this is definitely not the place to be.

The staff are very nice and the room was clean for what it was but the property is so run down - it looks really sketchy both inside and out. The whole hotel is also currently surrounded by construction which makes it difficult to get to. For the price we paid, definitely not worth it.

The rooms are extremely dated but the beds and bathrooms are clean. The floor plan of the hotel is a little confusing and security may be questionable but you get what you pay for. The front desk staff were wonderful and helpful. I wouldn't quite say that staying here is a "great value" but it is inexpensive without being completely run down or scary. Side note: my wife dropped her cordless, portable hand fan in the room and the hotel staff found it and called us to ask us if they wanted to hold it for us. Very nice of them and this is why I will upgrade it from a 3 to 4⭐️ Just understand what you're getting if you stay here. They use cheap lawn chairs and tables on the decks/patios and the furniture looks like it came from the late 70s. That's the vibe. If you're good with that then you'll be okay with this place. I thought it was fine.

I stayed there for a night. Rooms were disgusting. There are two separate areas/building. One is hotel reception and behind that is the actual building with rooms. Moment you enter into the building where rooms are situated you can tell it is very musty. You can smell the dampness. Rugs are dirty and totally outdated interior with minimum maintenance. The moment you enter into the room you can tell how poorly it is maintained. Extremely old furniture with dust on it, cables all around, old dusty sofa bed and dirty rugs in room as well. There wasn't even sufficient lighting. Shower head was terrible, body wash dispenser wasn't working and clogged bathtub. There is no value in this hotel. Stay away.

Stayed there just to sleep for the night travelling to the maritimes. The halls and getting to your room is like a maze. The hallway and rooms has a strong, musky smell. The toitel seat looked terrible and dirty but it was just the condition of it. Sink stopper was broken and couldn't empty the water so we had to brush our teeth in the tub. This place needs a full on reno.
