The feeling that we were participating in history was overwhelming. When the house was built in 1673, Shakespeare had completed his entire written work only sixty years earlier. This historic edifice has survived the turmoil of centuries but meticulous renovation has made it a complete delight to enjoy in this era. The furnishings are comfortable and the appliances provided were very high quality. The house is so welcoming it almost hugs you. Two exceptions: The stairs without an adequate handrail, that provide the only access to the bedrooms on the upper floor, were very challenging for this 89 year-old. The garden adjacent to the house was overgrown giving this treasure of a property a somewhat menacing, neglected look. First impressions count for so much. Attention needed here.

Tranquillité assurée

Beau coin de pays avec vue imprenable en hauteur sur le fleuve en hiver. Parfait pour un moment relaxant en famille, il ne manque de rien et les hôtes ont été parfaits. On a tous adoré le côté historique.
