We had the best time during our stay at the RIU, the whole resort was very clean, the food was great everyone was super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be. The resort has lots of great swimming pools 3 with swim up bars a fantastic beach and 24/7 food, drink and entertainment. We loved the entertainment we have stayed at resorts before and the resort is dead after 7 and we were bored NOT at the RIU we loved it!!! Will definitely be back and will recommend to all our family and friends

Rome was good cleaning of the room was great, We were eating at the buffet close to tha beach I think was called the kulinarium the food selection was below average service was horrible you asked for something they responded they were out of it or didn’t have it services at the hotel are nonexistent. we stayed for 8 days we had food poisoning for a day it might’ve been the water after that we switched to bottled water which you have to walk to front desk to get the small bottles in the room the restocked only 1.5 l bottles. No remote control for the tv in my room I had to stay for 1/2 an hour the front desk to be provided one. We asked for an iron the one in the room wasn’t working we got it 4 days later after we complained to a supervisor. The icing in the cake was no hot water to shower in the morning you had to wait until 11-12 am and if you were lucky you took a shower . Someone died at the beach on Saturday morning no emergency services ever showed up chest compression was given by people not hotel staff. There is signs that say that the beach is public but nobody can go to the beach unless you go through hotel property We had a bad experience uncharacteristic of Riu hotels which are our preferred hotel chain We loved Domican Republic as a country hotel was in a great location but that’s all they have going for them! Some people at the front desk weee great some didn’t care service at the restaurants was ok At the buffet the pasta station has no parmigiana cheese!!

Me and my kids enjoyed our stay in riu republica. Cleanliness of the area is visible. Housekeeping (lack of towels and replenishment of mini bar)and the condition of the room (cracks everywhere and lack of outlet) is kind of disappointing. Aside from that, everything is awesome!!!

My husband and I were there for 4 nights and from day 1 the toilet kept leaking water and making a loud noise every 3-5 minutes. We called every day to get it fixed and nobody was able to fix it. We requested a different room and they kept saying we’ll send a new person to fix the toilet. 5 days dealing with the same issue. The rooms were okay. The place overall is loud and noise. Food wise the steak restaurant you have to make a ridiculous line sharp at 5pm to try to eat there and honestly do not waste your time, the food it’s not worth it. The buffets have better food and more options. Definitely try the other Riu this one is also isolated from the other 3, the barbao, bambú and presidential were they have better options in terms to walk within the 3 places since they are in the same circuit.
