Before we arrived at the hotel I received a communication by “my online concierge” Carlos Carter. I never met him in person and yet he took really good care of us by making sure we had reservations every night during our stay. We communicated via WhatsApp and were able to talk to him while we were out on tours. The lady that cleaned our room was so sweet she made sure to leave flowers every time she cleaned and always had a smile! As per the rest of the staff we had a lot of fun at the pool bar with orquídea and Javier. They made sure to walk around the pool and ask the guest if they needed a drink. They even found us lounge chairs since where we were they was none. Lots of dining options and entertainment. We stayed at the adult only side of the hotel. I would had liked more music at those pools but we survived without it.

Stayed 5 nights, the property is beautiful. Beaches and pools were lovely, along with the neighbouring lagoon (not part of the resort). Staff were generally friendly, with a few that were really rude, oddly dismissive, and pushy. Spanish came in really handy on multiple occasions. Our main issues with the resort: 1) Our room was extremely humid and smelled musty the whole time. We got used to it after a day but it was still a bad smell. We requested a dehumidifier on the second day and didn't get it until the day before we left. Once we received it, the dehumidifier ran for a bit and then turned off (nothing needed to be emptied) and we couldn't get it to turn on again. Now that we are home, all our clothes still smell musty even after washing. 2) My friend with a nut-allergy ordered the cannoli at the Dolce Vita restaurant and when we asked the waiter about the ingredients, he insisted that it was just cream inside. We noticed that there was another brown cream piped on the plate and upon tasting it, we noticed that there were nuts in it. Thankfully we tried it before my friend got to it, but we hope the waiters are more careful in the future. They always seem to ask about allergies when they seat us but nobody seems to care beyond that. 3) Dolce Vita and Blue Moon were not great. It took over an hour and a half to get our food and some of the food was terrible (duck foie, shrimp fettucine, panna cotta, etc.) Buffets (El Mercado and Pez Dama) and Sakura were all good.

Solo traveler here. Ocean El Faro was a very nice resort. It has everything I needed, plus more. Many pools, many bars, many dinner options, and the nightlife was great. I was impressed by cleanliness and design of my individual room and the property as a whole. This place was certainly worth the money.

This was my second time at Ocean El Faro. A wonderful, convenient, clean resort with something for everyone. The food is great. The resort is clean and well looked after. Spacious rooms and exception consierge. Carlos took care of booking dinner reso without question. Highly recommend.

Beautiful resort, TERRIBLE food. The buffet is average at best and the a la cartes were attrocious. Boiled potatoes, canned meat, tiny portions. Anything worth eating costs extra. The staff is amazing and friendly, but very slow service for everything including drinks. The rooms are nice, and well kept. Everything is clean. The beach is diappointing...very small and rough, except for one small cove at the very end that is clean and calm waters. TONS of vendors on the beach as well as resort staff constantly trying to sell things like time shares and spa services which became pretty annoying. We did a polaris excursion that was fun....also did the deep sea fishing but caught nothing at all so that was a total waste of a day. Overall, we had a decent time but will not return again.
