We arrived at 12:45 pm and couldn’t check in early because housekeeping was still cleaning the room. They handed us bracelets for the buffet and told us to wait. We returned to the lobby at 3 pm, but the room wasn’t ready until 3:30. The bellboy escorted us, only to find staff still dealing with an “issue” and they promised we’d be let in soon. After a 15‑minute wait we were told we’d be moved to a different room. At check‑in I asked to reserve a table at a restaurant for the next day; the staff advises that since I booked with Expedia, Edwin, would be my concierge and would handle it, but I never heard from him—unlike other resorts that usually WhatsApp. Housekeeping only made the beds and changed towels; they didn’t sweep, mop, or wipe down counters daily. At the buffet I saw cooks and waitstaff arguing. The waitress/waiters were inattentive, often not offering water or drinks until we were done with our food. We had a sofa bed with no blanket; when I requested one I was given just a sheet. When I inquired about New Year’s Eve dining, I was told we’d have to use the buffet. No one mentioned that a reservation was required for the gala‑style buffet, and I only found out as a line was forming outside the buffet at 10 am that morning.
