I liked how convenient everything was on the property. I really wanted for nothing. I did not like the seaweed or kelp that was in the water. I also did not like the Royal Holiday people who tricked us into a meeting. It was a nice trip, though.

Overall great resort but I would select another for my next trip. Check in was a little slower then expected with the platinum package, we waited around 10 min to get taken to our check in location. Staff was super helpful and kind and we were escorted to our rooms. Amenities are great the room service, lots food options, casino/ nightclub and spa. Beach was beautiful and they regularly cleaned the algae thats typical for this time of year. The night life at this hotel left a lot to be desired would definitely recommend for a more relaxing stay.

Overall our experience at this so-called 5star resort was just ok. The food at the buffet was lackluster although there was plenty. The teppanyaki restaurant was so uncomfortably hot that we left shortly after the meal was served and the meat was more than well done. The Focaccia restaurant however was delicious and our waiter (who we also had at the buffet) was very attentive and personable. The “Burrata” appetizer was lough and lacked a creamy center however the clam pasta I would come back for. In 2nd place there would be the mushroom fettuccine. The pool was HOT, cloudy, falling apart and just plain gross. The beach was nice but there was little happening about the seaweed. I get it but someone could have be n taking it off the shore line here and there. The peacocks were beautiful but so noisy early in the morning. Our cleaning lady Kenia was super nice and we really enjoyed chatting with her. The alcohol was all watered down. Funny how I could have 10 drinks and barely catch a buzz but I bought a bottle at dinner and it was lovely.

The only excellent service was on La Hispaniola buffet, the other services was a dissaster, no even on of four rooms in ground floor even I requested at least one due to health condition, the manager at the front desk was so rude, the rooms are dirty no floor cleaning, no towels, Im sorry but I dont reserve on that hotel again

BEDBUGS! Although this is a beautiful property, it is infested with bedbugs! We traveled to the DR as medical students doing outreach to underserved individuals in Puerto Plata and Sosúa. Since it was my girlfriend’s birthday shortly after the outreach, we decided to stay a few extra days at this resort due to the amenities and food options. We arrived to the hotel, checked in and upgraded to platinum for a “better” room closer to the beach. We set our bags down and left the room to go to the beach, eat, and explore the property, but when we returned at night, there were bed bugs all over the bed. We went to platinum concierge ( a $330 upgrade) to get a new room and were show to 2 new rooms in 2 new buildings with bed bugs as well. The man who drove us to the new room saw bed bugs on top of the covers before we tried the next room. The staff were unkind when we returned to the platinum concierge desk to try yet another room and complained that we moved the covers to check the mattress after finding bed bugs in our first room. We decided to leave due to the infestation and were brushed off by customer service who said they would do their own investigation to see if they would give us a refund. This totally ruined our trip. We are currently fighting for a refund. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this at all cost! It’s pretty on the outside and some staff are friendly, but a bed bug infestation and terrible customer service is not worth the nightmare.

The rooms were nice but our room had no wash cloths. We also asked for bottles of water that were never sent to our room despite saying they would be. The pools were cloudy and dirty looking. The lobby smelled like pee and the check in process was long. Wait staff and food were the highlights. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again.
