Room was clean, the staff amazing… the layout was nice and relaxed, perfect for those needing wheelchair accessibility. The food and spa are about a 6/10 each. The beach is wildly dangerous with strong waves even on a nice day. Lots of pros and cons. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful place! Excellent staff! From the bellman to the housekeeper, the service was excellent. Special shout outs to Jesus at check in, Jesus the waiter, Darlene, Gabriel, Alexander, and Carolina at the spa, Miguel and Maria with entertainment, Basilio, Erika, and many many more bar tenders and wait staff…all were so hospitable it made our stay excellent! We loved the Michael Jackson/ Freddie Mercury show on Tuesday night. Maintenance was quick to respond to the couple issues we had. Only complaints we had: Our mini bar fridge didn’t cool well, which was disappointing. And the main hot tub didn’t get very hot. No fun on a cloudy day.

Where do I begin…from the moment I was greeted with champagne to Jesus who checked me in at the front desk (outstanding) and made sure that everything was to my satisfaction every time he saw me…although the food wasn’t 5 star it was good and very good at some of the places. Yoel who was the manager at Magna and the Grille took great care of me as well as all the wait staff. Gregory was the best though and took great care of me at Casa Isabelle and at breakfast. He made me feel like a queen. Cherelyn aka Honey is the best entertainment organizer (and a friend) and amazing at her job and at getting the crowd going. Eduardo (Panda), I will miss you as well. Maria, you took such great care of my room and went beyond what any housekeeper has done in any hotel I’ve stayed at. Thank you sooooo much. Juan and my girl who brought me coconut waters and skinny margaritas all day, thank you so very much. I know I am forgetting some people but I can’t mention everyone. This place was 5 star for sure. Oh and the girl who made my ice coffee every day and didn’t need me to tell her after day one what I wanted, thank you to you. Coffee is very important!!! I will be back for sure!!!

The hotel conditions were unsafe, unsanitary, and materially different from what was advertised: • The room had open patio doors with no screen, allowing animals to enter freely. • I woke up to a cat on top of me in my bed. I have a known allergy to cats and suffered allergic reactions and skin breakouts as a result. • The pool area was unsafe, with excessively deep water and no warning signs or depth markers, posing a drowning risk. • The food quality was extremely poor and unsanitary, making it unfit to consume. These conditions created a health and safety hazard, and the property failed to provide habitable accommodations as advertised. Due to these issues, the stay was not usable as paid for. I want a full refund

Food was ok. Italian, French and Japanese food were horrible. Food service was slow and inconsistent. Buffet and Mexican restaurants were good. Rooms were good but bathroom fixtures were old and corroded. I would say it’s a solid 3 star facility with 3 star rating using 5/5 for Banyan Tree products as a measuring stick.

Room was spotless and the service was excellent. The staff is genuine and friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay wonderful. Jesus at front desk is the man. You need it, he’s got you covered. Rancel the sommelier at Chez Isabelle is great. I honestly did not mean one staff member who was not happy and friendly and willing to help.

Nice resort. Very spread out and comfortable. I wouldn’t give it five stars because of the menu choices and the food quality. Not that it was bad. It just wasn’t great. And the alcohol level is pretty low.

Beautiful spread out resort with several pools and a long walking beach . The rooms were always clean, the staff was friendly and treated us well, there were fun excursions , the food and drinks were yummy, the night programs were fun. It was a wonderful vacation and resort . If you like calm flat water , however , this is not the beach for you. The waves are fun to play in and their sound was always a perfect presence .

The resort was kept very clean as well as our rooms and all the hallways getting to your rooms. The beach was cleaned daily to make it look nice at all times. The staff was extremely nice. The food was above average but not the best thing there. We had a wonderful 6 day stay.

I would love to tell you all about this stay that I had at excellence that I can’t even call a holiday. But I’m too busy arguing back-and-forth with leadership at the Excellence now. Very disappointed…. With everything! Their food their menu the consistency the small small portions of everything served to you. What a rip off. I’ve been to this particular chain hotel before and can’t believe what a disappointment and difference this is. Speaking to others on the resort that have become multiple times they’ve said that in the last few months things have really gone downhill! I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. I’ll be writing another review and multiple another social medias !! stay tuned!

Room temperature, humidity and spotless… food as advertised was pretty good and an unexpected treat was an excellent wine list, I particularly enjoyed Spanish wines from Ribera del Duero … service friendly and willing to fulfill your requests, which is rare. The chef at the French restaurant, prepare a coconut rice for me outside the menu options. Lovely place, a bit far from everything but for me was perfect!

I’ve stayed at the property once before so was not expecting such a disappointment. I booked the excellence club and upon checking in. Separated from my party and sent to regular check in. While sitting and waiting not understanding why we were denied VIP check in. 30 minutes later I am called up to the front desk and explained that I booked the excellence club. Upon looking into my reservation I am told yes you are in the excellence club. Already upset and off to a bad start they send me to the VIP check in where I waited another half hour while the party I came with was already at the bar waiting . In the end the hotel was overbooked and I was put in a regular room with excellence club privileges. Oh they did change the soaps in the room. Still a huge disappointment. Expedia needs to be more accountable for the reservation process.
