Unfortunately our experience did not align with the very high ratings we relied on when booking.
We saw cockroaches in our room on two separate occasions. On our first day, the air conditioning would not turn off, and after insisting on a room change, the door lock in the new room did not work, leaving us locked out for several hours until I demanded a supervisor’s assistance.
The food quality was very inconsistent and at times almost inedible. The drinks were also poor quality throughout our stay.
What concerned us most was something we personally witnessed that helped explain the high ratings. While dining at the BLoved restaurant, the host approached my sister-in-law and asked her to leave a review. She was told to scan a QR code, which opened Google Reviews, and the staff member selected “5 stars” on the phone before handing it back and asking her to write something about the service. This explained why so many reviews mention staff rather than the overall resort experience.
There were some positives. The beds were fairly comfortable, the rooms themselves were not bad, and the resort grounds are pretty. The staff were generally nice, the hot water was good, and we did find one fairly decent restaurant on site, Thalassa. However, there was a lot of seaweed, the water was murky, and overall the quality of food, drinks, room issues made this stay disappointing. Based on our experience, the online ratings did not accurately reflect what we encountered.
