I began trying to contact the owner/host in the very early morning of my arrival to confirm the 4pm check in. I didn’t hear from her until after 6:30 pm (after I checked into a hotel). She said she left a key on window sill but how was I to know if there was zero communication from her. I went to the apartment the next day and within 2 hrs of arrival the power went out. Apparently I needed to reload the meter (common here in DR) but she did not relay this information or give me a meter number to do so. I was 23 hrs without power before she finally returned any of my messages. I had to ask a complete stranger about the meter process and where to go to pay. That was an extremely important information she conveniently left out. Besides all that, the bed was hard & only a slight upgrade from a floor. I slept on the couch for 2 nights as it was slightly softer. There was 1 bath towel, no trash cans anywhere. The dishes in the apartment were sticky to the touch. No hot water. No starter essentials either. I finally told her I was checking out and asked for a partial refund, which obviously never happened or even considered.Do not rent this place. It has a a great location but that’s about it. She should be ashamed of herself. Enjoy the money you stole!
