I have given this hotel the grace of knowing that they were probably understaffed. I stayed 3 nights and I’m glad I did not extend my stay to 5. The staff some of them were pretty nice but some you could see they were overworked, some interesting things happened. We booked for the adults only, and were place in the grand palace…when asked it was “due to capacity “ which does not reflect my reservation…this is a reservation so what do you mean capacity. We were kindly walked to our rooms, long walk since we checked in in the adults side. My key didn’t work, the room was not cleaned properly and we were given only two towels, of course we called politely and asked for our jacuzzi to be cleaned and it never happened, when I called for the towels I was told I couldn’t get a new one until the next day which I understood because it was like 11-12 we were two people, we had one hand towel that we used for the floor by the shower and used the other two. After a long day of travel we went to bed to be waken up at 2 am with a person with towels…. I explained that we were told that we had to wait till the next day, the lady explained it was not true and that she did not have hand towels. I took the towels and moved on, then at 6 am someone knocked again with towels… my stay felt like a hospital I was already irritated, the free wine was bad, I cannot speak for the liquor because neither me or the other person drinks. You can only take their taxis out of the hotel no Ubers allowed in.
This was nice and relaxing and the view was beautiful, I just hated the weird policies they had.

Property was clean but staff at the buffet was not very tentative. I didn’t care for the food. The bathroom was outdated but beds were very comfortable. What I didn’t like was when on the beach there was no waitress taken any drink orders. We stayed at the adults only side and had to go to Paradise side for entertainment not much to do at the adult side.

Been to Punta Cana before at a different resort had a fabulous time this one I know to never step foot again. We were a large group and started planning things in advance. Once we got there there was no reservations or anything scheduled for us. And since we all bought the same rooms we requested them to be close. Well that also didn’t exist. Cockroaches everywhere. The adult side had barely anything no swim up bar! And the one bar they had by the pool was jam packed which is understandable as there only 1 bar in the pool & beach side for EVERYONE. We spoke to multiple managers regarding our booking and reservations and was told that I never messaged the property they are unaware of who I was in contact with!! The whole day and a half we spent in customer service regarding multiple other issues with our stay to be told “this is all expedias fault not ours” until two of our party started speaking fluent Spanish than the conversation took a turn. The reservations and my messages were found!! Now it’s laughable but in the moment a complete joke. Our dinner reservations that we had we made a few changes as the manager recommended us to other “better ones” we went with her recommendations of course. And they were all mixed up. What was a big party was only reserved for 6/8 people so when we got to these reservations more often we were met with “we cannot accommodate a large party as you only booked for 6/8 people”. The only dinner worth eating was the hibachi otherwise not it.

This is an extremely large property. The bathrooms very much need updating. It's over 2 feet to step into the shower. If you are older, they only have six rooms for handicap or you have the two footstep into the shower. Rooms are nice and large. Extremely Noisy!!! when they have the shows at night. Woke me up all most every night. The buffet was pretty much the same every day with a little bit of variation. You can go to other restaurants, but you must have a reservation. Guest services were the best! There are people here from all over the world all seem to be very nice. The staff is helpful however not many speak English.

Even though we had a rainy week, the staff did their best to provide comfort and entertainment. The buffet was excellent and offered a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I liked that each night for dinner the buffet offered a theme (Italian, Chinese,etc). The staff was always very friendly and helpful.

Im sorry, but I would not stay again. I have bites all over my body, I didnt stay for more then two nights but I have bites everywhere that look like bed bug bites. The staff at front desk were nice, everyone else seem unhappy. The food was not good at all, My bestfriend agreed as well. All the buffets were horrible. I will say, i did appreciate the train service that ran to bavaro palace, I liked how places were open late.

As a native of the Dominican Republic, I take great pride in our country’s reputation for hospitality and respect but my recent stay at Barcelo Bávaro Beach was a complete embarrassment to that standard. I was part of a group of twelve guests, all booking separately under the same link and paying the same rate. Yet, two of our reservations (including mine) were denied premium access and treated with absolute disregard. We were sent back and forth between Premium Services and Guest Services with no accountability. Managers Clakson and Evelyn were informed multiple times and did nothing to resolve it. We also booked an excursion through the resort that was misrepresented and unsafe. Even the excursion manager, David, admitted it should not have gone that way. On checkout, he tried to offer us a 10% refund (about $20), requiring us to sign a form banning future complaints and write our credit card number on paper an outrageous and suspicious request we refused. Throughout our stay, we were mocked and disrespected by staff, referred to as “Los 12,” and repeatedly treated rudely at restaurants and bars. This resort’s staff and management have no sense of accountability, professionalism, or care for guests. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip instead, it became a nightmare that made me want to go home early. I will be pursuing this matter with Barcelo’s corporate office and sharing my experience so others are aware
