Fantastic staff very knowledgeable and helpful at check in. Not easy to get to from the ferry terminal unless you walk along the beach and up 300 stairs. Taxi is not available and the porter’s from the ferry are questionable.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was nothing short of incredible. Palo & Dario are the best and made the experience perfect! The staff were some of the friendliest and most thoughtful I’ve ever encountered. They anticipated what I needed before I could even ask, making me feel genuinely cared for every step of the way. Everyone was not only helpful but also so much fun to interact with, bringing an energy and warmth that made the entire stay feel special. The level of service was truly outstanding. Every detail felt intentional, from the way the staff remembered my preferences to the effortless way they handled every request with a smile. It was clear they take great pride in what they do, and it made my experience feel more like a retreat than just a hotel stay. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Whether I was relaxing with a drink or just soaking in the surroundings, the scenery never stopped impressing me. There are several cozy spots throughout the property where you can just sit back, unwind, and enjoy the beauty around you. The location is perfect — close to everything I wanted to explore yet peaceful and private enough to feel like a true escape. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER

This was the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel. From the moment we checked in I could tell the attendant was overwhelmed. Everything looked run down, cushions ripped and damp on the couches. Staff look unfriendly and barely acknowledge us at all. When taken to our room we had to walk through bags of laundry and cleaning supplies that were there the entire time. The room was underwhelming and the bathroom was filthy and falling apart. The pool water was slimy and there staff again didn’t acknowledge us. Waking up the room was infested with ants. The breakfast buffet food was cold and again no acknowledgment from staff. We ended up leaving after night one even though we planned to stay three nights. When I communicated our disappointment with the front desk they only made excuses and refused to refund me for the two nights left when I said we would be leaving because it was that bad. They kept making excuses and absolutely did not practice appropriate customer service in this kind of situation. For close to $1,600 a night everything about this hotel was absurd and I would stay away from booking here. They attempted to offer a room upgrade but that was clear they didn’t understand that it was not just the room that was the issue. I’ve worked in customer service for over 20 years and I cannot believe they refused to refund us in this type of situation. It shows that customer satisfaction is absolutely not a priority nor is righting a wrong.

This hotel is not that nice. Service was good but the facilities were not that nice. Nothing is remodeled. Also the water shut off for a whole day. Was very disappointed with even how they responded or didn’t even prepare for something like this happening on the island.

Excellent location with amazing views. Walkable to everything. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The only thing was the A/C did not work well and my building lost power almost every night off and on. That made it very hot even for the 10 minute off and on issues. Also- there was some mold around the a/c units in the wall. I assume this is common for this area. But- I would stay again!

We booked an ocean view room — a premium experience we were really looking forward to. When we checked in, we were told we were being “upgraded” to a better room. That sounded great… until we got there and realized it had no windows. Not a partial view, not a courtyard — literally a windowless room. We immediately asked to switch back to what we had originally booked and paid for, but were told nothing could be done. No alternative options, no credit, no apology — just a shrug. This felt like a bait-and-switch. The ocean view was a huge part of why we booked this trip. Getting stuck in a dark, closed-off room completely changed the experience.

The best view of Positano buildings. Very beautiful. Has private section where you can walk down stairs to the main beach. You can also use those stairs to get to hotel faster from the main square. On the upper portion you can walk down to a coffee/ pastry spot where they had great Iced coffee and continue on to main square. Total of about 10-15 min walk down

Hotel Maricanto in Positano, Italy was amazing. From check in to check out the staff provided top notch service. Paolo the concierge was marvelous with all the info he provided for our trip and the ladies at the desk helping. us out with the boat to Capri and scooter rental. They were there to truly make sure their customer enjoy every facet of their facilities and town. The breakfast was delicious and so were the views. The staff again exceptional! Our room was amazing to wake up to or just stay in. Definitely, coming back here. Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable time.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The best hotel staff I have ever experienced. The check-in process was smooth. The front desk staff/ reception staff went above and beyond to attend to our needs. He was the nicest and friendliest staff. He even packed us breakfast to-go on our day of check out which was early. The room had the best view of Positano. They had a great breakfast spread and we also dined at this place . They have the best vegan tasting menu. I highly recommend staying in this place. My only little hiccup would be the valet parking. The guy was very nice but he did cause damage to our car while parking( Positano being a super tight space) But, the hotel staff was very receptive about the issue and was ready to reimburse if necessary! ( we had insurance so did not have to get on this route)

Felt like royalty!

We felt like royalty staying here. We were treated to a FABULOUS upgrade, and beyond that the service is just top notch. The folks at the desk particularly (shout out Dario and Anita) continued to go the extra mile to ensure every bit of our stay was just perfect. I’ve never received such incredible service. The hotel is also wonderfully located, not too far up or down the hills to the beach area. Unbeatable views (photos attached from our terrace) The property is immaculate, with wonderful people throughout adding to the magic. Would love to come again!
