Stay in mosteiros

The place is larger than they appear in the photos. The place is clean , close to a few of the sites and a natural pool and sete citades. It is about a 45 minute drive to Ponta Delgada, but a very easy drive. David was quick to respond to any questions. Check-in was easy. Overall a great place.

This property is a gem. Super clean, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, gorgeous pool in the backyard, privacy. Walk to EVERYTHING! The Mosteiros natural pools are a short walk and near to relaxed casual restaurants where you can enjoy a cold beverage and views of the pools if swimming is not your thing. Sunsets are fantastic! More upscale restaurants with amazing fresh fish are just a short walk into town. My friends and I agreed this was one of the loveliest properties of any vacation we have taken - and we are in our late 60s so that's saying something!

Lovely house in Mosteiros

Beautiful house, very spacious within walking distance of Mosteros beach with beautiful sunsets. Small supermarket less than 5 min walk away. Mosteiros is about 40 min drive from the airport and the town of Ponta Delgada. Unfortunately the washing machine was unavailable for the duration of our stay. The host apologised and offered to do two lots of washing for us during the week. This was very helpful but it remained an inconvenience that we did not have a washing machine at our disposal as expected. Apart from this it was great.

Wonderful house in a great location - fantastic hosts

After two weeks in this house, it felt like home - it is comfortable, roomy and perfect for our family of four (and added another adult after a week - still plenty of space.) Jeronimo and Helena were super communicative and responsive - they answered all of my (many) questions, sent great information in advance of our visit and had great suggestions. While the weather on the island didn't cooperate with us much, we really liked the location of the apartment - Mosterios is a great little town, we felt like home there and there was a lot to do nearby. Driving an hour or so away for the day wasn't arduous and it was nice to return to a comfortable place. I'm quite OCD and the home was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We felt fortunate to stay with such gracious hosts!

Jeronimo and Helena are wonderful hosts, we felt welcomed and at home in the most stunning coastal town in Sao Miguel. Pretty villa in lovely location

The villa is very well equipped and in a lovely location in the fishing village of Mosteiros, which is quieter and more tranquil than Ponta Delgada. Very beautiful scenery and coastal walks. The outdoor pool is not heated but that did not stop the children from enjoying it. Two grocery stores are in the village, a cash point and a few restaurants. If you like pizza go to O Sole Mio which is in one of the nearby villages next to a larger supermarket. They make their own fresh every day with loads of choices of toppings. You will pass it if travelling from Ponta Delgada. We loved visiting the lakes in Sete Cidades and if you like creepy things, visit the abandoned hotel. Sao Miguel is a very pretty island. Very easy to travel around if hiring a car. Helena is a wonderful host and the welcome basket of fruit, wine and chutney was very thoughtful and tasty! In colder weather, the villa can feel a little damp. We had 2 very rainy days but when the sun came out, it was glorious. If I have one criticism, it’s the pillows. Most were lumpy and I would recommend Helena buy a whole new lot of pillows to replace the lumpy and old ones. Apart from the pillows, everything else was fine. All in all a lovely place to stay and a relaxing week on a beautiful island. Thank you Helena 😊

Perfect vacation home !

The house was just perfect for our family vacation, clean and very spacious, has everything you can possibly need, Location is also perfect we would walk with our 3 yang kids to the center of town and to the beautiful natural pools in mosteiros almost everyday . We highly recommend !

Beautiful home with incredible views

From the moment we walked in until our time ran out and we had to leave, this home was absolutely wonderful!! There is plenty of parking available right in front of the house. Helena met us upon our arrival to provide us with the keys and show us around. She was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. She also provided us a full list of things to experience on the island. The house was very well stocked with plenty of plates, cups, utensils, blankets, pillows, towels, you name it! The views from the front door and off the back patio were incredible. The location is in a quiet neighborhood so it was very peaceful. Everyone we met in town was very friendly and accommodating. There are restaurants close by as well as a market within walking distance from the house that has everything you need. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this stay. Great Azores Vacation

We are an American couple from Boston who traveled to the Azores in June 2018, to this property. It easily exceeded our expectations, and Mosteiros is a great place to be based out of on Sao Miguel(in our opinion). We are not city people so we did not visit Ponta Delgada except for our arrival and departure. Knowing we were staying outside of Ponta Delgada, when we landed at the airport, we headed to Parque Atlantico to buy groceries for the week. There are a couple markets around Mosterios but we found it helpful to arrive stocked up.Our gracious hosts greeted us upon arrival, and gave us the rules/instructions + wine!. We explored all of the natural beauty we could cover in a week, and it was great. We hiked some beautiful areas, and drove to other beautiful scenic places. The trick is to not be afraid to adventure-go off the beaten path. We describe Sao Miguel as a combination of Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Vermont(US State) with a European flair. Driving around is fine, it just takes some adjusting to the narrow roads.We were a bit afraid to go to local restaurants due to our lack of Portuguese, but got our courage up to go to Restaurante Gazcidla and enjoyed it very much(they spoke english well). Went whale watching with Terra do Pico right in town, and they were great-we recommend highly. As we are also stereotypical Americans, we found the pizza restaurant in Ginetes(5 minutes away), O Sole Mio to be great( I know, don't go to The Azores to eat pizza, but they were fantastic). Most everyone knows, it is not a party place, but a place to truly enjoy nature. Hot springs in Ferraria are very cool.Overall, highly recommended property on a great island!

Check in wird über die Schlüsselbox selbst vorgenommen - Anreisezeit ist dadurch flexibel - es wurde im Vorfeld alles super erläutert. Schnelle Antworten vom Eigentümer. Küche hat alles, was man braucht. WLAN funktioniert sehr gut. Parkplatz ist direkt vor der Tür. Schöner grosser Pool. Bademöglichkeiten, Restaurants und kleiner Laden in Laufnähe.

Fantastic house

The house is located in a small village near the beach. Amazing sunset and beautiful beach. The location is near some great sightseeing places. The house has everthing you need and the swimming pool is great. Very spacious house. We had a great time there with hour kids. 10/10 house.
