The nearby localities of Songman and Osikto are definitely worth exploring. Songman is 11 kilometres to the east of Pokkyo-ri, while Osikto is 25 kilometres to the west. Songman hotels include the Iksan Business Tourist Hotel and Iksan Grand Palace Hotel. The Apple Tree Hotel Gunsan and Hotel Beang are some of the ones in Osikto.

Get your sporting fix by taking a journey to Jeonju Stadium, which is situated to the east of Pokkyo-ri. Stay right near the action at the Dukmanjae or the Hongranmiduk.

Gwangju International Airport is the most practical airport, and can be found 85 kilometres away from the centre of Pokkyo-ri. Nearby hotels include the Holiday Inn Gwangju and the Ramada Plaza Gwangju.
