I would definitely be staying here again when in Playa. Everyone was so hospitable. It rained most of my trip but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. Thank you Eli for scheduling out massages in the spa, Jacqueline was great. Ivan in the Cachito was so amazing we literally ate here everyday and everyone at the front desk was lovely. Martin was our driver for the airport transportation and he was super friendly.

The Reef 28 was a perfect stay. In the middle of loads of shops and restaurants and very close to the beach. This hotel has a roof top bar/pool etc with great views. For a fee you can spend the day or days at the sister hotels which are lovely and attached to their own beach areas and have their own swimming pools. We have a couple issues with our room but the staff were very quick in rectifying the issues and even moving us to a same room first thing the very next morning. Staff are lovely and polite at all times. lovely location, hotel and great place. Would definately revisit and recommend 10/10

I contacted the hotel prior to booking as I was worried about how loud the pool area would be from other complaints. I was told they lowered it. They did NOT. It was LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, couldn't even talk and for a hotel with 100 plus rooms they only have about 15 loungers. So even if we wanted to sit on the rooftop deck, we couldn't. Then their was the room. Again I asked when I booked to not be on the bar side due to noise. I have to work sometimes on holidays. We get there and are right above the bar that plays more loud music all night long. Then when I did have to work their WIFI doesn't work, they did accomodate me by allowing me to work in a restaurant area they don't use. It did have good wifi but no AC so I sweated while working We hated this hotel so much that after 3 days of our 2 weeks we moved elsewhere. Also the restaurant is decieving. They say they have more than they do. They have ONE restaurant and the their other location is the morning buffet and then turns into italian and asian, there is literally no atmosphere so we mostly ate at the other one. The only pros were the great staff.

My partner and I absolutely loved the reef 28. The staff were amazing and super nice. The Mexican restaurant, Italian restaurant, Japanese restaurant were all so good and really clean my partner, and I stayed in the rooftop as much as possible and took advantage of the all inclusive and it was worth it. It’s in a perfect spot where it’s not too touristic and still local. The beach is like two blocks away and it’s super clean too. We had the pleasure of being served and taken care of by Angel at the front bar and he was so nice. Alberto in the front desk area was also very helpful. We also paid $15 each to go to the Sister resort and we enjoy that too. The drinks were really well-made and the tequila was super smooth overall 10 out of 10 experience and we will definitely be coming back !

Lobby was nice with big bar... ROOM, BEDDING DAMP, THEN OUR CLOTHES, THEN THE AWFUL SMELL! Unfortunately, we had significant issues with the room we were provided. It was was damp and smelly, the bedding was damp and had an awful smell...mold or mildew present. This created quite an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment, forcing us to keep the sliding door open to air out the space. We could not use the AC as it made the small worse. Despite this, the dampness persisted, affecting our clothing, which remained damp throughout the stay. Neither the phone or TV ever worked; were told no one available to fix. Also, we needed to shorten our stay and contacted Expedia to ask for a change in our reservation before our stay; however, but were told that their attempts to contact the Reef 28 went unanswered. The management refused to reimburse us ANY AMOUNT for the 2 days we paid for that we were unable to use ($875 ) With the long notice we gave, most likely they could have rebooked the room.Although I would feel sorry for anyone who would have booked it. After spending two days at the hotel, and on the way home, I was coughing, sneezing and having respiratory problems. Within 3 days I was put on antibiotics. I have not been this sick for years! Coincidence? Sad experience my Grandson's first visit to Mexico.
