Spotless facility. All the staff were outstanding. It was nice having three resorts to go to for the beach, pools and food. The food, drinks and service at the Reef 28 roof top were excellent!

The food and service aren’t great .. all inclusive .. there are stars next to all the food we wanted to order .. Star Means there’s a charge for those items. The hotel is clean. Rooms are spacious. Rooftop is awesome. Drinks are SO watered down .. barely any alcohol in them and only the CHEAPEST alcohol is included. Location is great. Service isn’t. You’re lucky if they clean your room every day. We could NOT contact the hotel before our trip.. no response to emails. They don’t answer calls. The phone in the room doesn’t work.. You have to go down for everything! They said they would fix the phone and they didn’t. So you don’t bother the front desk, they don’t fix the phones. The NOISE OUTSIDE, made us loose so much sleep! Partying and CONSTRUCTION. The food got very repetitive. 2 restaurants and a rooftop. You need reservations for the restaurants or you’ll have to wait. No room service. They are not super friendly. They won’t go out of their way for you at all. The location is great, but too loud. Bring a bar soap and conditioner.

The hotel was very pretty and the room was large. Rooftop was cute and food was pretty good overall. The staff were nice but many seemed confused as I would get different responses from people. They were strict about reservations even if the restaurant was empty. The spa was very cute and relaxing. Prices were reasonable. The pool and sauna were on the colder side. Location was great but loud. Beach is a close walk and beautiful.

For the price and claim of the hotel, it did not feel luxurious at all. Bad smell in the room, meals that had barely any vegetarian options. We were also greeted by payment of another 50$ when we got to the hotel, which was not mentioned in the booking process. We wished to work out on the gym, which is said to he open 24hours a day in the website, but actually closes at 21. The staff seemed very close minded to help…

The hotel is very nice, and most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, the all-inclusive option is somewhat misleading. The restaurant menus have very limited choices for all-inclusive guests, and all restaurants close at 10 p.m., leaving no food options if you’re hungry later. In addition, even with the all-inclusive package, there is a $15 USD fee to access the sister hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the restricted restaurant menus were quite disappointing

Biggest advantage of this place is the rooftop. Nice pool, lots of lounge chairs, ocean views, it's great. The rooms are average. Good size, but some issues (faulty toilet, patio door didn't lock). But generally comfortable. Location is central and walkable to many fun restaurants. Can be very noisy on some nights, especially with a room facing the street since there is a night club that will blast music into late at night (at least on the weekend).

Review: The Reef 28 — stressful, noisy, and an accusation that ruined our holiday I rarely leave reviews, but I feel genuinely obligated to warn others about our experience at The Reef 28. First we have been to Mexico 5 times before but this is the first time we have experienced anything like this. Normally we experience exceptional service and we have to say most of the general service staff were pretty good. I honestly don’t know where to start, because this stay was one of the most stressful and unpleasant hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We simply asked for help installing our Amazon Fire Stick. I’m 62, and the TV in the room is not something you can casually “mess with” — it’s solidly bolted into an extremely heavy frame and clearly not designed to be removed without proper tools and more than one person. Despite that, we were accused of breaking the TV. What happened next was the worst part: a manager (name starting with D) escalated the situation and sent misleading photos to Expedia claiming we “scratched the TV and caused the LED to break.” We were then threatened with police involvement if we didn’t pay for the TV. I cannot describe how intimidating and upsetting this felt in the moment — it genuinely felt like we were being pressured into paying for something we did not do. Thankfully, I had the presence of mind to record several videos — including footage of D and a large security guard in the room while further accusations were being made.

There was hammering above our bed 3 times . One at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 am . We reported it and it still happened again. There are not enough chairs around the pool because they open the pool to other guest at sister properties .
