quiet relaxing getaway

just perfect for a quiet getaway, staff so friendly and helpful, lovely bar serving in my opinion the best food in the area including breakfast. Apartment was so clean and comfortable. This small complex of apartments was just what we wanted. No sunbed challenges and most days had pool to ourselves. Girani itself is a small resort with very little to offer

Lovely old tasteful small hotel that unfortunately has been surrounded by garish mega tourist industry monstrosities. If you want a busy beach town with bars clubs and mediocre restaurants platanias will be great. Nice sand beach. If you are looking for unspoiled crete this area has passed its prime but hotel is very nice despite this

Svært godt mottatt da vi kom sent på kvelden av personale som snakket godt engelsk. Fikk et flott rom nært bassenget. Da rommene er over to etasjer passer de ikke for noen som er dårlig til beins. Lite familiedrevet hotell med kjempegod service.

A lovely place to stay

We immediately loved the rustic and genuine feel of whitewashed stone walls, stone floors and wood furniture at a stone throw from the beach. Costantinos Proimos and his staff are extremely kind, helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. The two storey flat we stayed in overlooked the swimming pool and we could enjoy the view of the pool from either our balcony or the patio ouside our flat. Proimos Maisonettes is in a quiter area of Platanias so it is also a very good place to relax and enjoy the quiet.It is only a one minute walk from the beach and a five minute walk from the centre of Platanias.You can either make your own meals as the small kitchenette is equipped with a microwave,a kettle, a toaster and two hobs, or enjoy the food at the bar (such as the delicious home made moussaka). It also very close to the highway so if you rent a car you can easily drive to Chania or other destinations. A free parking space is available next to the hotel.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid the cool sameness of contemporary beach resorts and is looking for a confortable and nice, family-owned place to stay with character a.
